The show room is very small and there is not a tremendous selection. We were unable to tour the factory because of covid, which essentially made this stop just another candy store. The draw for us was definitely a tour of the factory. We loved that this business employs persons with special needs. The grounds were cute but small. The chocolate is very good and reasonably priced.

The chocolate is fabulous. We did not know before the visit, but this chocolate factory is staffed by adults who have disabilities. The workers were fabulous. We took a tour conducted by one of the workers. This young lady was very knowledgeable about the operation, and was so proud of the workers. As we walked around, you could tell how much pride the workers took in their respective jobs. The candy was very good, but I am convinced that was due to the pride of the workers in the making of the various chocolate products. We did a lot of neat things during our Wellsboro visit, but the Highland Chocolates Factory was by far the neatest. We will visit Wellsboro again, and Highland Chocolates will be the first place we stop.

We stopped in to check out this chocolate store and their sweets along with taking a little tour. It is located in an older style white house right off of Route 6 E outside of downtown area. There is a parking lot and side porch entrance. We were greeted by a friendly young woman in a very small chocolate store with a nice variety of chocolates in nice displays. We asked for a tour and she got one of the staff from the back to give us a little tour. The couple of back rooms were clean and well organized and the workers were hard at work dipping and molding chocolates. We were shown the various machines and how some of the chocolates were made along with being introduced to each worker. It looked like a very well run little business, a non-profit, which provides employment to people with disabilities. Proceeds go back into the same community. We enjoyed our little tour, felt good about what this chocolate shop was doing for the community, and bought some fun chocolates to take along. A very 'sweet' little stop with sweet staff and sweet treats!

We read about Highland Chocolates with their great chocolate and wonderful mission, so stopped in for a tour and tasting. They weren't actively making candy that day, but you could see the machines used. They have a small shop staffed by adults with disabilities who lead short tours of the facilities (about 2 rooms), but you don't need to do the tour to sample their pretzel bark or purchase some chocolate. They use 10 pound blocks of imported Belgian chocolate for the base of their candies, including fudge, dipped cookies and pretzel sticks and pretzel bark in many varieties. We thought the prices were reasonable and everything we bought delicious: the bark (dark, milk, peppermint, peanut butter), fudge, dipped cookies, and coconut filled candies. Very glad we stopped by and will stop in again when in the area.

The factory tour of Highland Chocolates is interesting, the company works primarily with the handicapped. Each chocolate is made by hand, be it a mold, bark chocolates or sandwich chocolates (so yummy!!)

Had a wonderful tour through this neat little chocolate factory. We were able to see the entire process from the molds to packaging up and shipping! The kids learned a lot and were able to try a sample. Great little shop and delicious chocolate. Can't wait to visit again!

We were here mid week and made sure we had time to take the tour of the "factory". A very nice young lady showed us around and introduced us by name to each of the employees. They were all busy doing their assigned jobs, but stopped to greet us as we went along. We saw how they produce, wrap and eventually sell and ship all the various delicious products. We tried all kinds of their new offerings and so far, all are OUT OF THIS WORLD YUMMY! This is a class act business from their people to their products.

Highland Chocolates is our go-to place during our annual December visit. The shop is very tiny, but the chocolates have big taste. My favorite treat at the white chocolate and peppermint-dipped oreos.

The chocolates are amazing. We bought several as gifts, wish we had bought more for us. The chocolates are molded in lots of interesting shapes. Dad loved his chocolate locomotive. If you get there early you can take a tour of the facility. The shop provides training and employment for special needs adults, it is non-profit.
