I had no idea about this garden and my in-laws are coming here from Australia on a garden tour and this is on it so I decided to have a look. It is wonderful, easy garden in which to wander. There are many hidden gems within the garden so allow about 2 hours to really get to see everything in... More

Picture wandering an expansive, beautiful carefully maintained garden - you're taking deep breaths, finding adirondack chairs set in twos here and there to invite rest and conversation, contemplation, creativity. Do yourself a favor, pay the $10 that will go towards maintaining this glory, and wander around, at your leisure...try to find hidden sculpture, interpret arrangement, laugh out loud when you... Chanticleer Gardens is an amazing display of horticultural art. There are numerous small sitting areas that allow the visitor to drink in the art within the foliage, the fountains, and even the wrought iron railings. Rather than showy flowers, the foliage stands out. They take such care that there are even cut flowers in water baths back in the woodlands... More

My wife and I were looking for a day trip to the Philly area. We've been to some of the more known gardens which are very nice. Chanticleer was a wonderful surprise for us. The main path will take you where you need to go. However, you should explore the other paths. Flowers, trees, shrubs, water, garden furniture in a... More

If you are in the area and like flowers or even just taking a walk through pleasant grounds, don't miss this. This garden has approx 35 people taking care of the grounds. Of course you'll see more when the flowers are in bloom, but even on the off months, there's something to see. You can even bring a picnic lunch,... More

What lovely 35 acres. Well designed and a pleasure to explore. It is someplace that you just want to keep coming back to. A lot of the iron work and unique benches were crafted by workers on the estate. It was just a delight to visit.

My family and I went here the Sunday before Memorial Day and we did not know exactly what to expect. It quite amazed us. There are so many little details in the garden that make it so special. The different styles of fencing around garden paths are incredible enough on their own. We actually went home and tried to replicate... More

Lovely gardens, handmade seating, pools of fish, lotus flowers too...beautiful way to spend an hour or two. There is a large variety of flowers, plants, shrubs, and trees all idyllically placed for everyone's enjoyment.

I lived for many years between Longwood Gardens, Wintherthur and Mt Cuba. I have visited and enjoyed those sites for years. Thought there was nothing like it nearby. I was wrong....and right! Chanticleer is a delight, very creative and contemplative. I t was super hot and humid today, but that did not deter me from walking through the entire garden.... More
