Enjoy a the Beauty Of Chanticleer Gardens
Sep 2021 • Couples
Stunning botanical gardens displayed in the most creative ways imaginable! My husband and I have been gardeners for years and we left with all kinds of new ideas. Beautifully laid out with paths meander throughout 48 acres of beauty.

A Beautiful, Creative Garden
Sep 2021 • Family
We enjoyed this gorgeous garden but would have appreciated a clearer map, more signage, and more seating on main trails. My little granddaughter aged 3 loved the elevated walkway, the tiny house, the koi, and the stepping stones on the stream. Staff feeding the koi ignored a question she asked and I'm sure she would have liked to hear about what the fish and turtles ate and some facts about them. However, this is a wonderful garden and well worth a visit. My daughter and her family plan to go again soon.

Amazing Garden
Jul 2021
I have lived nearby for a long time and never found time to visit. I am sorry I only just found out. What an amazing collection of flowers and unique plants in a pristine and manicured environment. This place is a beautiful oasis in a crazy world.

Beautiful walk among flowers and plants
Jul 2021
Beautiful property, lovely gardens and landscaping. I couldn't stop taking pictures.
The walk around the loop is about a mile, both down and up hill, but the path was hard packed and easy to walk. Plenty of benches and chairs to sit and chill.

Vast Variety of Gardens
Jun 2021
A perfect place to spend time walking amongst the various gardens. Gave me several ideas for my home garden. Large 35 acres allows visitors to be spaced out and not crowded as you stroll as you get your exercise.

Beautiful, Laid Back Propoerty
Jun 2021
Loved everything about it. This is a very laid back day, walking through the property experiencing different gardens, very well planned. A large variety of plants and flowers, chairs in various locations to just sit and relax as we observed a lot of people enjoying picnics on the grounds. We've been to Longwood Gardens, which is beautiful as well, but a more "formal" feeling.

Disappointed Chanticleer would not extend membership due to Covid!
Jun 2021
So disappointed as I received a 2020 gift membership, was never able to go and when I called in 2021 they would not extend the membership. With the pandemic through most of 2020 I am very mad that they could not extend. This was a $70 membership for nothing!

I will renew my membership at Longwood as they extended my membership by 6 months!

Exceeded Expectations by a Mile
May 2021
My wife & I have been members of Longwood for several years but decided to go to Chanticleer with friends. Overall, I actually found Chanticleer to be more pleasing. I saw more unusual flowers & plants in that one visit than I have ever seen in a single day. The only drawback is that you need to pick a good weather day reservation in advance - we were lucky. Everything is very well maintained and various flowers & colors are placed in excellent fashion. We really want to return and allow more time. The staff is very easy to interact and ask questions. Lots of places to just sit, relax and take in the beauty.

An enchanting gem of a garden
Oct 2020
I haven’t been keen on visiting new gardens having had too many “that was a waste of money” experiences. Given the reviews for Chanticleer, I was curious to see this place, but wasn’t sure Fall would be the best time since many gardens are past their prime in October. I’m glad I did visit, because it was a perfect little gem. Chanticleer isn’t chock full of blooms and grandiose like Longwood Gardens, but it is an enchanting, more natural garden full of unexpected surprises along its paths. Similar to another reviewer, I’m not usually fan of wooded areas, but I really enjoyed venturing through the woodland area. The Great Lawn and the “Ruin” Garden seem to be the fan favorites based on the crowds there, but Chanticleer really excels in its attention to details. The water fountains and plant list boxes become sculptural objects, floral arrangements in the buildings are created from plants growing in the garden, the perfect moss ground cover is being cultivated nearby evergreens, etc., And I don’t think I’ve ever (and probably will never!) write something like this, but do check out the bathrooms in the Asian Woodland area, whose structure resembles a traditional Japanese house. There is no café, so be like the locals and bring along a picnic to enjoy your favorite view after walking around the gardens. Spend some time here to savor and experience Chanticleer’s quiet beauty.

A couple of items to note:
• This is not an accessible garden for those with limited mobility and/or in wheelchairs. There is a paved walkway circulating throughout the grounds, but there are numerous hills and many of the best areas require walking through grass.
• Parking reservations are required. So, unless you are being dropped off, you will need reserve a parking spot/time to enter.
• The garden is only open from March-October.
• If you didn’t bring food, there are a number of restaurants on Lancaster Ave – about 5-10 minutes away, which still poses a small town, local vibe. Alternatively, King of Prussia - a heavily commercialized area - is only 10 minutes away as well.
