By far better then anything in Poconos. It is bigger than Camelback or Shawnee, offers better variety terrain, longer trails. For me it is extra hour to drive, but it well worth it. They have night skiing which is nice. Purchase two days tickets the night before skiing. Come early next morning and you can ski right from the parking... More

2/13/16- We love Elk Mountain and today was no different. The conditions (except for the - 15 WC) were great. The snow was well groomed and not very crowded for Presidents` weekend. The only draw back was the EXTREME COLD. Bye the time we left at 4:30 the wind chill was between -20 to -30. We had to pick the... More

The best part of Elk is the good slopes, grooming, the pine trees. The lifts are slow, but this is a plus because it cannot bring too many people to the top at the same time and as a result the slopes aren't crowded even on holidays. What I don't like is the parking is far and you have to... More

This was an enjoyable mountain for my end of season last ski. The spacious lodge is comfortable, the parking is paved and food reasonably priced. There are many choices of trails for different levels of expertise. I especially liked that from the top of the mountain that I could take a straight run down or go on the outer edge... More

It was overall an okay place, but not good for beginners. There is one bunny slope, but all the other slopes are for more advanced beginners. The lodge had a cozy feel but it was very expensive with very little choice for vegetarians, people dieting, and people with allergies. One of the worst things was that you had to walk... More

My husband and friend and I were up at Elk for a long weekend. We arrived during heavy rain and toured the area our first day there. Ski conditions the next two days were almost perfect - the groomers at Elk did an excellent job of getting the slopes back in order again after the storm.

I really enjoyed my trip to Elk mountain. It has more of a back-woods feel, and isn't super commercialized like many of the other resorts in PA. It has a decent lodge area, and a nice bar that had live music. The slopes seemed well kept, and had a nice variety for different experience levels.

Elk Mountain is a little less crowded than Jack Frost and others. It's a bit more of a drive from West Chester, PA but worth it. Friday nights are a great time to ski!

Been there a couple of times. Trails are nicely groomed. Never gets crowded like the ones in the Poconos. Rarely anyone sits on the middle of the slope resting or waiting to be crashed onto. Lift lines are minimal or not at all. A great mountain for intermediate skiers. Their groomed black diamonds' grades are more like Killington's blue trails.... More

Nice easy mountain to really enjoy the day on. Nothing crazy as far as trails go but just the right blend. Well groomed trails and lift lines move quick. A nice resort for our area...
