This is our favorite place to ski in PA because everyone is so friendly. From the very helpful and accommodating staff, to the other skiers. We didn't experience the usual pushy-line-jumpers or obnoxious speed-demons like at the other resorts in eastern PA. There's a laid-back, yet serious skiing vibe. I'm a "green trail" skier, and felt these slopes were a... More

Elk is a little bit farther than Shawnee and Camelback, but it's definitely worth it to avoid the crowds. I like the different terrain and the conditions were very good when were there (after a 12"+ snowfall). There is also night skiing on some of the trails. They could use a magic carpet in the beginner area. You need to... More

They say it in their ads but it's true - best mountain in PA that I've been to. Something for everyone. Great bunny slope for learning (my toddler just went with us as well as a beginner snowboarder taking a lesson), good park, great views, and some "off piste" action on some slopes! Small lodge but all amenities and super... More

Ski conditions are always good and after 12+ inches of new powder they were spectacular. Food at the bar was really good including the burgers, chili and cheesesteaks. Service was a little slow to start but after the rush they did a good job of getting us our food.

We visited Elk on a Saturday afternoon and evening and found it a rare but delightful family friendly experience. The staff is super nice and the place and gem of a find. The lines weren't too bad the conditions were actually pretty good considering the amount of snow we've received. They had a band in the bar area that was... More

Nice long runs, only draw back is the slow lifts. This place does have nice trails and I like that they are long. Some good blues if you are an intermediate skier. Big area to bring in your own food but also a bar and restaurant as well. I would go back

Elk is an average or below-average ski resort in comparison to other ski resort experiences. With that said, Elk does maintain a well-groomed and diverse enough terrain to keep you interested for a day-trip and another return. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The admission passes are reasonably priced and the resort offers a (mandatory) free, continuous shuttle from... More

Pros: In general, more mountain than anything else in the in Eastern PA. Ample snow making for all trails and solid grooming. Rebounds nicely after warmer/rainy periods. A nice variety of terrain but nothing particularly challenging for the black diamond crowd. Straight, twisting, wide, narrow and cross mountain trail options with great views keep it interesting and make the time... More

This mountain attracts people who want to ski or board. Mostly families of skiers. They practically didn't even need anyone to manage Lift lines; people knew how to alternate and feed in singles. Friendly staff and excellent snow management ( grooming ). Varied terrain for all skiers. Parking and the shuttle up the hill to the lodge were fast and... More

It's not amazing, but if you are looking for a relatively inexpensive place to ski in the Poconos, I doubt you can do better. Lehigh is a terrible run. Just awful. But Mahican-to-Lenape is great for a relatively easy, long, run that brings you to the outer lifts, and away from the crowds. The night skiing is excellent, as is... More
