Stopped in early August on a Friday, and the place was jammin'! Large clean water park available with a great wave pool and lazy river, and across the road a family-friendly amusement park waiting under a canopy of large shade trees.

Lots of midway games, more and more rides, a huge picnic area for companies, a large retail store, and pretty much all the food is good. The pizza is the BEST of any park in America. Don't go home without it.

Cute Family Park!!
We visited 7/5 and it was the perfect day despite the hot weather. We spent most of the day in the water area and the kids mostly had a good time even with how crowded it got. It was difficult to find a space to put things down and by lunchtime hard to even squeeze to sit by side of the little
Kids water section. We waited a long time for the pizza line but it was worth the wait. Delicious amusement park food the 2 year old ate 3 pieces! I wish there was more shade and tables for dining. I also did not like long line to get into the wave pool.
The 6 year old loved the refillable slushee cup and flavors. We went over to Kiddie Land around 4 and rode some of the smaller rides. The Wacky Worm was a huge hit and games were reasonably priced. I hope to go back soon!

We loved this park. We took our kids and grand kids from Pittsburgh to this park (2 hr. drive) and everyone loved it. This place is sparkling clean, even the bathrooms are cleaned all day long. The food at this park is very good. You can get excellent pasta dishes, pizza, and all the typical dogs, burgers and ice cream but I recommend any of the huge pasta dishes and you can even get gluten free ziti! We reserved a cabana that was pool side and it was perfect to get out of the sun when we needed to. We all loved our trip to DelGrosso's park so much we have decided to make it a yearly family tradition

Visited in Aug with 2 adults and 3 kids. 1st visit to Delgrosso's.
It was awesome! Kids can't wait to go back. Water park was great. Wasn't super impressed with the rides across the street. They were too dizzy for me.
Free parking. Admission price is reasonable (and even better with coupons). You can take your own food. The food available for purchase is reasonably priced.
My friend who lives in Altoona thought we would be disappointed due to number of amusement parks I have visited but that was not the case

Had a great time with son and two grandson's under 4. We opted to buy tickets instead of the flat rate. We didn't go to water park this day, but plan to visit in future. It looked nice.

Everything is very affordable including the food and games.

My husband's band was booked to play at the Thunder in the Valley motorcycle rally in Johnstown this past weekend, on Saturday. We decided to make a weekend getaway of it and visit DelGrosso's Park on Friday, Lakemont Park on Sunday, while we were in the area. We had never been to either park before.

First up was DelGrosso's Park, last Friday (my husband and I, and our 6 1/2 year old daughter). It was about a 2 1/2 hour drive from our home. I never would have thought we could spend an entire day at such a small park, but we did, open to close (10 hours). We just couldn't get my daughter out of there.

The park was very clean, well maintained, with friendly employees, reasonable food prices, and plenty of trees and benches. They seem to have fit a surprising number of rides into a compact area. The only thing we felt was a little lacking was the train ride. It didn't go anywhere at all, just in a somewhat small oval, with nothing to look at, no scenery, no theming. The train rides at Kennywood and Idlewild Park are so much better.

The Crazy Mouse sure was fun. We rode that one many times. The Merry-Go-Round was very quaint, with real tails on the horses, and baskets of flowers hanging all around. The new Pharoah's Fury (pirate ship) ride and Yo-Yo Swings were also lots of fun; we did those multiple times each. We also rode the Scrambler, the Free Fall (not a particulary tall ride, but fun nonetheless), and the Wacky Worm.

I'm not much for spinning rides, they make me queasy, but my husband and daughter really enjoyed the Space Odyssey -- sort of an indoor caterpillar-type ride. They also rode the Tilt-A-Whirl, Paratrooper and Casino. The Flying Bobs were sort of unique, but made even my husband feel a little green. They go forwards at a slow to moderate pace, but really pick up speed when going backwards. My daughter loved them. The bumper cars were also a hit with my daughter. She wasn't tall enough for the Super Round-Up so we got to skip that one.

Although she was big enough for most of the rides (all except the Round-Up) my daughter also spent some time in kiddie land. The castle theming is nicely done, and I was surprised they would have gone to the expense and the trouble of building the castle parts -- very nice. Most of the rides were your standard go-in-a-circle kiddie rides, carnival style. The Dizzy Dragons was a nice addition though. It's so brightly colored and it really catches your eye. It was a teacup-style ride, where you can spin your car by turning the center wheel, but instead of teacups you get to sit inside dragons. How unique.

My daugher played a few games, and they give the kids a prize whether or not they 'win' the game. That's really quite nice. She won a small plush fish and a couple of spiral (unicorn horn) lollipops. She was happy.

The water park section is on the small side, but well done. That alone kept my daughter busy for half the day. She was only tall enough for the grouping of three big water slides, not the larger two. She did them a couple of times each. She did spend a lot of time playing in the smaller kiddie section on the other side. It has several small slides plus a lot of interactive parts -- wheels to turn to adjust the spray of water, a dumping bucket, spraying hoses, etc.

They also have go-karts (including family cars so an adult can drive with a child passenger) and mini golf for what we felt was a reasonable additional charge. They were also very well maintained with nice landscaping and mature trees.

As far as amusement parks go, we thought the food prices were quite reasonable. We tried the potato salad, pizza, and cotton candy. Potato salad comes in a small cup, a perfect single serving side dish size, or a one pound container. A whole pizza with pepperoni (six slices) was under $10 -- they also had cheese pizza and deluze pizza. They also had sandwiches -- burgers, hot dogs, cheese dogs, cheesesteak, sloppy joes -- for around $2-4 each. There is a picnic area at the back of the park where you can leave a cooler and your own picnic foods if you'd like. The pavilions were only a very short distance from the rides.

We had planned to visit Lakemont Park on Sunday, but after walking through the park (luckily we did that before purchasing our ride all day passes) we opted to leave and go back to DelGrosso's for another half day before heading home. Lakemont was the exact opposite of DelGrosso's, not very nice at all. The rides looked quite old and unsafe, there was no landscaping to speak of, and it was very spread out with not all that many rides. It felt like an abandoned amusement park full of old carnival reject rides (with the exception of the two wooden roller coasters). I would not recommend Lakemont Park at all, but I would highly recommend DelGrosso's.

Our first trip to DelGrosso's Amusement park near Altoona, PA. with3 yr old grandaughter ! what a great park !! All day rides and waterpark pass is $31.95 !!
There is free parking and admission !! If you do not want to purchase a ride all day pass, you can pay 50 cents a ticket and most rides are 3or four tickets.

There is plenty for kids of all ages. The water park has a wave pool, lazy river, kids pool and water slides. About 30 rides make up the amusement park area.

And there is no better food in an amusement park anywhere. The sausage sandwich, chicken wrap and pizza are great. Lots of food options are available.! The pricing for food is the best among amusement parks we have attended !

Employees are kind, courteous and great with kids .

Having just moved to Pennsylvania from Florida, we were in need of some water fun, especially for my 2 year old. We had tried Sesame Place a few weeks ago and were completely disappointed at the lack of things to do there for toddlers, considering it's a toddler tv show! My wife happened to hear about DelGrosso's from a co-worker and we decided to give it a shot even though it was 2 hours away. It was DEFINITELY worth the trip! This place was awesome! The drive from Chambersburg to Tipton was beautiful and full of winding, scenic views and we even found a few other hidden gems along the way. First of all, parking is FREE and the entrance fee is minimal compared to other water parks we've been to. Get the All Day Pass and save money! The park itself is bigger than I expected for the price. My daughter enjoyed having her own park area with water slides fit for toddlers and plenty of sprinklers and faucets. The lazy river was long and exciting with plenty of water squirters along the way to splash total strangers with lol. The restrooms and changing areas were surprisingly clean and in very nice condition considering people are in and out of there drenched in water. There are plenty of restaurants or concessions to choose from with DELICIOUS food. The walk to the amusement park side was draining in the hot sun but once you get to the other side, all of the rides are shaded by massive trees. I was impressed to see how many rides there were for my daughter to enjoy. Of course they checked her size and she barely made some (she's 32" tall) but regardless, there were at least 6 or 7 carnival style rides she was able to enjoy...there usually isn't even that many at a carnival, let alone an amusement park. This side has plenty of concession stands as well with everything ranging from hot dogs to ice cream. There are even picnic pavilions where they allow you to bring your own food and coolers and they're all shaded and HUGE. This place definitely exceeded my expectations. Can't wait to visit again!

We went to the park for the first time with our daughters and grandson. Found it clean, not overwhelming for a toddler, and good food at a reasonable price. Excellent rides for the small ones and good rides for adults. Liked that there are many trees for shade and benches for the " old folks". ENJOYED THE DAY!
