We visited the park on July 27th. The park has taken steps to provide protection from COVID-19, but other guests did not adhere to recommendations and rules weren't explicitly enforced.
We arrived right at opening (10 am), temperature checks at the door, plenty of signs encouraging mask wearing and social distancing. The first half of the day was great... guests social distanced (for the most part) in ride lines, lines moved quickly, all staff wore masks. Rides were sanitized in the afternoon. Staff were friendly, everything was clean... great first half of the day.
However, after 2:00 or so the park grew quite crowded (no way were they under 50% capacity!) and guests really stopped social distancing. Perhaps if staff was available to enforce 6 feet distance in line things wouldn't have been so bad. The wave pool was PACKED. Discarded masks were all over wave pool area. It was kind of gross.
We love Camel Beach, and I feel like the staff did the best they could. But... if you are at all concerned with social distance enforcement or mask-wearing by other guests, you'll feel very uncomfortable there this summer. My kids had a blast, but honestly, I wish we would have just waited to visit until after the pandemic.

Hello, thank you for your feedback! We are happy to hear you enjoyed your time with us. We want to assure you that Camelbeach waterpark is operating at 50% capacity to reduce the number of people inside the park at one time. We do not condone people throwing masks on the ground, we continue the best in practice cleaning protocols throughout the resort, this includes everywhere on our property. We hope you visit with your family again one day!

Be prepared to spend a lot. $25+ for parking, $25-$30 locker rental, $42 ticket, $15 chicken sandwich with no extras, $15 small mac & cheese, $4.25 bottle of water, $5.25 bottle of soda, $11 for a waffle with 1 scoop of ice cream. I understand you can pack a lunch and leave it in your car but with small kids that's too much of a hike after walking the park all day. We had young kids with us that wanted to play on Pharoah's Fortress but unfortunately there was only one bigger slide open with one worker and the rest were closed off for the whole day.

Enjoyed a fun day trip with my two tweens and their grandparents. The weekday lines were not not bad at all, the lazy river and wave pool were excellent ways for the grandparents and mom to cool off while the tweens hit the assorted slides and there was plenty of seating with lockers to store valuables. Changing rooms and bathrooms were kept clean throughout the day. Staff was friendly and guards were alert. Food was pricey, however, taco food truck was worth every penny and food court was easy to get in and out with no wait times. And plenty of adult beverage options too. Overall highly recommend!

The facility itself is great. The water rides (when they are open) are exceptional. The cabana service is good and a must if you plan to be at this park all day. You have a cabana attendant who will take and deliver food and beverage orders with a smile. The park and restrooms are clean. Lockers are readily available. Food is not bad. But the great comments about this great facility stop there. Food is outrageously priced. If you're bringing a large family, bring a LARGE roll of cash or credit limit on your credit card. The rides are tended by lazy kids for the most part who have not the least care or concern about you as a guest. They have no cognizance of how their performance affects wait time, and further, do not care. Generally, the employees who are in the water ride receiving pools crawl at a painfully slow pace to retrieve a raft and at an even more painfully slow pace to deliver the raft to the lift in order to return it to the loading zone. Rides that clearly need 3 or 4 employees manning the ride (2 up top and 2 in the pool) have half the required amount of staff (1 employee up top loading 2 different rides and 1 employee in the pool below strolling to the rafts) which contributes to wait times approaching 2 hours. They offer fast passes for a price of about $30/person. While waiting in the regular line, we started counting how many times the same family, in the fast pass line, rode the ride we were waiting in line for. Four times for one ride and 7 or 8 for another. I love the fast pass at Disney, and I purchased it many times. I support the concept when it is administered fairly. But it is not - not at this park. Again, the staff is not the least bit cognizant of how their pace, apathy and overall lack of awareness impact the customer experience. Nor do they care. It's not that the lines are extraordinarily long. It's that the staff is extraordinarily lazy and management is extraordinarily absent or greedy or both. I

The park itself is a lot of fun. The staff very nice. The price gouging however is the reason I will never go back. Year’s ago you would pay $10 for the closest spots now? I payed $30 for the second closest area because I have leg issues. I don’t even know what they charge for the closest spot’s. Once inside you cannot take a cooler you have to walk back to your car if you brought A cooler. The food?? Is ridiculously priced. My family of 4 ordered 3 sets of chicken tender’s, 3 SOGGY fries one cheeseburger 2 Mac and cheese bowls 4 sodas. We paid $150. NEVER again. I will never step foot in this place again. How dare you charge $15 for Mac and cheese? Nope. Not my money ever again.

I took my son 10 and my niece 14 to the park today, it was our first time ever going. I heard that the capacity was at 50% and that they were enforcing enhanced cleaning due to Covid. So with all that information we decide to give it a try.
To start off, people were temp checked and had to wear a mask upon entrance but that was the only safety measure we saw enforced. There was no social distancing any where in the park, ands at times it was overwhelming and.scary.

Due to the heavy rain we had last week( I had no idea about), half of the Waterpark was shut down which left people forced to pack in together to enjoy what was open. I paid for reserved seating, which was the only time we were able to distance ourselves from other guests. The park staff seemed understaffed and they were running out of items. We ordered food and drinks in our seating area, the waitress came back and said they ran out of bottled water and soda, fast forward 45 mins later we were given our food and drinks.
I was not impressed by this place, maybe before Covid things were good but at this point I would not recommend going.

We are sorry to hear of this experience and we appreciate your feedback on this matter. Please know that Camelbeach is operating at 50% capacity to abide by local and state government orders. Along with the capacity limit, we do require a physical distance of 6 feet or more between parties everywhere on our property. Some of our attractions required maintenance due to tropical storm impact before your visit which was very unfortunate given the timing of the season. Our team worked hard to get attractions back up and running as quickly as possible, however, the safety of our guests come first. In order to ensure safety, we limited attractions until they could be fully repaired. We did have this information listed on the website during this time to notify anyone who planned to visit the waterpark. We always encourage guests to visit the site before they arrive for the day. Again we are sorry for any inconvenience and hope you will visit us in the future.

Very Disappointing!! We reserved VIP chairs by the wave pool expecting quality service however it was so bad today. Waited nearly an hour to order food. Food took over 2 and half hours to come and when it did come order was incorrect and cold. I was told food might not come and On top of that I was charged 18% gratuity for lousy food and service. No one is managing the ride lines, people hold on to their tubes and go on again. Workers and staff were courteous but there is not enough staff. And what is going on with the parking prices. You’ve got to be kidding me. Expensive and poor quality.

The overall time was nice myself my 12 year old daughter and my husband for most of the day we got tickets and a vip cabaña at the wave pool today July 11,2022. Had food drinks good service etc… Our assigned cabana had been taken over by another group who didn’t want their assigned cabana because friends were next to ours no big deal as another was available the staff was wonderful there and there was no issue however, we made our way over to pharaohs phortress area, later in the day most of the larger kid/adult slides were non operational due to lack of life guards I believe, except the light blue slide. At the entrance sat what I assume was a life guard who was crouching in the corner covered in a rain poncho as to not get wet or sun burnt which is fine she gave signals when you could ride meaning the last rider was off the slide my 12 year old went first no issues I followed however I didn’t get a chance to make it out of the slide when I heard my husband scream before being impacted by this grown man at what felt like about 20 miles an hour. No one came to help or aid in any way, no one asked if we were ok or if there was any injury, and if the guard is watching to see if all is clear there is no way she could have not seen what happened as we came out together shocked and in obvious distress. We made our way out I sat off to the side in a chair crying in pain and probably of embarrassment of the whole situation I limped around to find employees who would just point us here and there. Hours later i I sit in pain writing this as a warning to
Other parents out there. I’m am so thankful my daughter wasn’t the one who was hit with that force as she is under 75 lbs and my husband is above 210. How can a guard give someone an ok when the other person clearly isn’t out of the slide. Again most of the day was very pleasant but god forbid this happens to a child with a much worse outcome then a sore neck back and leg. When you pay an exuberant amount of money between tickets parking cabana food and drinks you expect safety to be included in that price or at least someone you speak to to actually write you up an incident report and take it a tad more seriously then to just look at you like oh that sucks. Yea kinda thanks, so just be carful that the guards are actually paying attention because it could result in far more serious issues then I am dealing with.

Arrived at 4 couldn’t get into our room until almost 7 ,we were told to go eat we sat in buffet area and after about fifteen minutes the power went out no one told us anything no emergency lighting lit up we just sat there for 10 minutes in the dark , when we finally got into our room it was filthy see attached pictures the toilet didn’t work the room was in cleaned and we couldn’t get a manger on the phone . After waiting on line fir a half hour we spoke to a manager or someone who said they were management and he told us he would have room cleaned and toilet fixed and gave us 15% off our bill . The toilet was not fixed until almost midnight and the next day when the room was supposed to be cleaned I walked in in the cleaning lady sitting on a desk in our room on her phone needless to say room was never cleaned again .when we got home I spoke to someone on the phone and the assured me again that they would take care of us and would call us back within the hour but like everything elder on this place it was a lie no one returned our call I will never go here again to many nice water parks close by to be treated like this .

We decided to book a mini-getaway since we haven't really been anywhere since the pandemic began. We just needed a change of scenery. We thought this place sounded like they were taking proper Covid precautions, but I was very disappointed to see masks were no enforced. While we were waiting for our room to be ready, there was a rather large group of people hanging out in the lobby either not wearing masks at all, or wearing them improperly if they even had them on. They all looked they were there to celebrate someone's birthday. I kept waiting for someone who works there to say something, but nothing was ever said. It wasn't just this group either. I witnessed employees, including housekeeping staff, not wearing masks and not social distancing. It was very uncomfortable.

Not to mention, we were told our room would be ready at four, but it was not available until 5:11. We had to wait in the lobby and just witness all the mask wearing that was not happening. I got a sinking feeling in my stomach that we made a mistake coming to this resort.

So we'll be staying in our room for the majority of the trip. Some people were so brazen about not wearing masks, they didn't even care. They just walked down the hallway not wearing them as if they knew no one was going to say anything.

Never again.
