Well done, Bret! Excellent tour. Loved that you catered your exploration with the seven of us to meet the curiosities of older folks as well as more fun loving folks. You brought to life critical history that maps directly to what we as a society are wrestling with today. You thoughtfully wove what we've learned from the past, to what we're dreaming of for the future. Absolutely delightful time had by all, leaving us wanting more. We're all researching and talking about what we gleaned.

If you're a History buff, we highly recommend going here. Very accommodating staff and very knowledgeable. It really takes you back in time with the rich history of the Poconos.

Beautiful furnishing of 1700's, 1800's and early 1900's. Tour guide pointed out many hand crafted grandfather clocks, organ along with unique moldings in the mansion.

Excellent presentation of history of Stroudsburg. Nice program on cottiere fashions from 1930's, 1940's and 1950's. Beautifully styled womaen's suits.

We enjoyed a brief visit here. Found the small but informative exhibits to be entertaining. And quite informative. Good for patient-people without kids as you need some quiet times to enjoy this. Very good spot to cone

We reveled in a long weekend in the Poconos in late September. We kicked off our history of the region with a tour of this 1795 stunner. When was the last time you were in an intact home from the 18th century? Stroud Mansion was never converted into apartments, or damaged by fire, or modified in any way. Standing in that gracious front parlor, one can hear the quill pens scratching. The glossy hardwood floorboards are right where they were placed during the Washington administration, based, still in Philadelphia.
From speaking with every smiling member and volunteer in our two hour visit, it is obvious that MCHA is a vibrant gathering of caring people. They are open extensive hours through the week.
A visit here is well rewarded.

The Monroe County Historical Association is a wonderful way to get comprehensive information on the Stroudsburg area. The docents paint a picture of the events important to founding of the area in interesting ways. Not to be missed!

My husband and I recently visited Stroudsburg. We enjoy history and decided to visit the Stoud Mansion on Main Street. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. We throughly enjoyed learning about the history of Monroe County. Well done and we will be back to see new exhibits!
