This place is fantastic for everyone both young and old. I have been to the Choo-Choo Barn many times on visits to the Strasburg area and always find something new and fascinating to see. You can spend as much time as you'd like checking out all the activities going on in the awesome train layout. The staff is extremely friendly... More

This museum is truly amazing. It's a miniature collection of villages from the surrounding Lancaster, Strasburg area with a lot of trains and many moving parts. It is so well done and completely captivating - we loved it. I would recommend it for all ages.

I have been a train collector and enthusiast for over 45 years but must admit the Choo Choo Barn is one of the best displays I have ever seen and I have seen many. It takes on the flavor of the Amish countryside and has tremendous and unique operating displays. One of the crowds favorite is the house on fire... More

Was worried at first that this was a tourist trap attraction but we went anyway. Wow! Can't wait to go again! So much to see! The detail in this display was well worth the time we spent. Will visit again really soon!

I've been to Choo Choo Barn several times, with friends, family, and recently with my own kids. It's a hit every time. Taking in all the detail is fascinating, and I love how they are always adding to the display while still leaving the old favorites we love returning to look at time and time again. I love that it... While waiting for lunch nearby, decided to take our 2 granddaughters, ages 4 & 8, to kill some time. We knew nothing about this place before we saw it. I was surprised that there was an entrance fee for the 4 year old, but at $4.50/kids & $7.50/adults ($24.00 total), this display is well worth the money. Especially because you... More

The Choo Choo Barn is a really unique model train layout. I've seen many model train layouts but what really sets this apart is the automation and details. First of all, many of the model displays are custom built, so you see buildings from around the area. (The owners even modeled their own home!). Many of the scenes have very... More

This labor of love, begun in a basement 50 years ago, made an impression on both my 4 year old grandson AND my 91 year old father-in-law. Wonderful detail, a myriad of different trains harken back to when we ALL wanted something like this in OUR basement. When you go, grab the 'find it' sheet which engages everyone as you... More

It's not just the trains, but the action figures that make this a special exhibit. My adult friends and I thought this one of the most interesting exhibits we have ever seen. The work and creativity that went into this is extraordinary. A must see!

Do not miss this place, especially if you are a train buff. Model trains running all over the large display. I won't ruin it for you. but. there are many things happening all the time. You usually have to circle the large display a couple of times as you miss many of the things that are happening on you first... More
