We did the Christmas train ride. We loaded up on the train. There was a Santa who was very nice, but when he tried to sing a Christmas Carole with the kids he didn't know the words. Then the train started. 3/4 of the trip is through the abandoned and decrepit Schenley Industrial Park. Abandoned and falling down buildings and... More

We've enjoyed riding on the Kiski Junction Railroad a number of times. We've ridden in the open-air cars and in the caboose (seating in the classic passenger coach is also available). The vintage locomotives and cars are great, its like a trip back in time. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The price is very reasonable. Sometimes we'll pack a... More

This is a local railroad, and they offer rides to the public. They have closed cars, and open cars. I prefer the open cars so you can get the breeze. The open cars are seated as small booths, you can sit 4 at a "booth". You are able to take a small lunch and eat on the ride. It takes... More

We went on 6/18/16 for our first ride on this train after wanting to do it for some time. We had our 8 year old with us. We figured an hour long train ride would be a good first experience for her and the weather was nice (sunny and 80). It was a decent experience until the train broke down... More

This is a really fun and charming train ride. In summer, try to sit outside and bring some snacks and drink. The staff is very friendly. The town of schenley is interesting from a historic point of view. The views of the kiski river are lovely. My only complaint is the massive amounts of Japanese Knot weed along the tracks... More

This is a quaint ride through the woods to the dam near Clinton Pa. The speaker which I think is a recorded speech is in a monatone. Great place to take kids for halloween or christmas. It is short enough or even they would get bored.

This is a very basic railroad with a simple depot and nondescript location but operated by a staff dedicated to making your train ride the best it can be. Our experience was with a bus tour on a railroading ramble in Ohio and Pennsylvania. This short line going to the dam isn't the most scenic - rough looking houses/shacks, abandoned... More
