We went with two kids and found this location to be most focused on providing building stations where kids can free choice build onto existing Lego theme worlds. We were expecting more experiences like rides or games but this location offers only one short ride, a train, and a short, somewhat confusing Ninjago laser game. Free play areas like pirate ship were a hit, but overall this location is about providing kids access to Lego building opportunities. Other experiences like Lego craft studio and Lego Dotz creations were closed on our weekday visit. Our kids loved the building stations, but given the somewhat steep cost of a ticket, I didn't feel there was much value. Good if you have an hour or two that you want to while away sitting and watching your kids build legos.
Attached Lego store offers a relatively small assortment of sets at inflated prices, but fun to look around.

After reading so many negative reviews, we were reluctant to take our 2 1/2 year old and 4 year old but they had a blast.

Admittedly, they should lower the ticket price. My daughter was under 3 so she was free and we had a discount, but if we had to spend $100 for the family, we may not have been so pleased with what we got for our money.

The train ride into Legoland is much more fun than I thought. The description does not do it justice. It is probably over 5 minutes and interactive. You are given laser pointer type wands to shoot at different screen displays to score points & find the map to legoland. It’s arcade-like with great visuals. It was a bit scary at first for our two small children but they warmed.

The area is basically one giant open floor plan. There are probably 8-10 themed play tables of legos where there are unbreakable lego displays with buckets of loose legos for the kids to build with on the displays. The displays are all fairly different so my kids had fun spending time at each one and it did not get repetitive for them. There is also a Duplo building station where you can crank the table to shake like a earthquake to see how sturdy your building is.

There is also a big slide, a smaller slide, an area with huge foam-like legos to build with, a laser tunnel, a really impressive pirate ship themed playground, a giant LEGO car to pretend drive, and a theatre w/ lego short films. The area is decorated with life sized lego people.

There is a huge display of Philadelphia buildings & sights. The models are behind glass but kid level and they are interactive- lots of buttons for your kids to see the displays move or light up and do things (like jackhammering construction worker, moving boats, moving guy up art museum steps).

It was not crowded so we had no wait and the kids never got shoved around looking for space to play. I might have a different review if it was overly crowded. I can also see where waiting for the train to get in could back things up during busy times.

Only complaints:
Don’t buy the $5.00 activity option. It didn’t seem worthwhile.

The mandatory photographer at the entrance was pushy and annoying. We tried to avoid the photo but the employee wouldn’t let us. The staff really just talk to each other. I didn’t actually see them work. In fact, I watched two play checkers together for 20 minutes on the LEGO checkerboard table -they never looked up. They didn't even have a person in charge of the laser area which caused a bit of chaos.

There is no coat closet - only lockers to rent. Leave your coats in the car unless you want to squeeze them in a small rented locker. The carousal at the mall is right out front of entrance and Santa Clause (during holidays) is not a far walk so you can do Santa, the carousal and LEGOLAND together.

I think the sweet spot age range for getting your monies worth is probably 4-8. Go with your gut. A kid under 2 or maybe 2 1/2 is likely going to tire of the small LEGO piece building quickly. My kids love legos and blocks so they could have stayed all day building. However, they tire quickly of drawing and art projects so the Crayola Factory was a bit disappointing for us. It all depends on what your kids are into doing. If you take a 4-8 year old who loves legos during a non-busy time, then you will probably come out happy.

Not a terrible place to go and definitely has some cool features like the little train ride to start the day and the 4D movie theatre , but I really think they could improve with certain aspects especially with the actual Lego building areas. The staff is helpful and friendly and maybe if the price was a bit cheaper the rating would be one star higher. I wish they had more train car building areas at the tracks because there were many , many tears from kids who had no train car to play with while one kid had all five cars . Lol. There was no shortage of car building areas which largely went ignored . I realIze this is a minor point and not at all why I'm giving it 3 stars. Just a funny aside. The Philadelphia exhibit is cool to look at as well even though it's scale is lost on little kids. I mean like I said it's not terrible but leaves a parent feeling like what the hell did I just blow money on ??

We watched all four 4D movies. They were great for kids and adults. Our 8 year old grandson enjoyed building a Lego rabbit with an instructor. He also had fun finding the stamps to complete the activity packet.

We decided to check this place out on a rainy Sunday. The tickets are timed and we purchased in advance, but that doesn't stop them from making you wait outside even when you arrive at your entry time. The place was smaller than what I was expecting. My son and daughter played in the play area and then when they went to enter a second time later a staffer told me my daughter was too small and the other employee shouldn't have let her in. The message they gave me was that their staff does not know what they are doing and they upset my daughter by this as she was told she could no longer play somewhere she had previously been allowed. We left with her in tears. I would not return and would not recommend it to others. For the price, there is not much to do for a younger age, especially when they forbid them from entering the larger play area.

Tiffany, We are sorry to hear about your recent visit. The timed ticket purchase is to guarantee you entry into the facility. There still maybe some wait times while visiting especially on a weekend when everyone wants to visit. If you do not have a timed ticket and come to the attraction trying to purchase at walk up, we may end up turning you away or selling you a time slot hours later due to our capacity protocol. We apologize our staff had instructed you daughter about not being able to enter into a certain section, if you would kindly email us at: Philadelphia@LEGOLANDDiscoverycenter.com we would be happy to look into this and maybe have you come back out on us! I went to LegoLand with my two children (ages 5 and 8) and a friend and her two children ages 7 and 10. I wanted to purchase my tickets online but you had to choose a time frame that you would arrive. Since no one ever knows what kind of traffic you will hit on 76, I didn't want to choose a time and arrive too late.
If you don't want to choose a specific time they want you to purchase the ticket that is $10 more, which allows you to arrive at anytime. We arrived and there was no line and I was able to purchase our tickets and get on the train ride. We were off to a great start. Well then we got inside and it was pure chaos. There were school groups everywhere. There was no map or times when shows were, but we found our way around, it really isn't that big. We saw the 4D movie which was cute and played in the playground which was ridiculous. My 5 year old was getting pushed around by so many big kids. Thankfully the girl working the gate kicked the rowdy bigger kids out, it was getting out of hand. We wanted to take a little break from all of the sensory overload and we were told at the gate that we couldn't all leave and return. What? I've never been anywhere that you can't do that, even Disney lets you leave and return. I wanted to go to the car to get my daughter socks so she could go back on the playground and the girl gave us a hard time. Also, you pay so much to get in and you can't bring any of your own snacks which honestly is ridiculous. They don't have much choice at the snack bar, that part really bothered me. Honestly, I never give negative reviews to anyplace because I can always find the good and fun in something, but this center needs to work on their customer service and make it more convenient for families. I would not recommend this to families. There are so many other play centers around the tri state area that it wouldn't even bother with this one. Try the please touch museum in Philly or Crayola Factory in Easton. This was not worth the hour drive and the insane ticket price to get in.

I had a private party for my 10 year old grandson which was the most horrible experience from start to finish. This is way overpriced for the package. For starters, my guests were in line 15 minutes before the time of the party and were rudely told to get out of line and "go over there." Apparently there is a sign out in the mall area that is not clear at all, that you are supposed to wait at for parties. If you have never been there before, you would never know. When we told the manager about the rude employee and the manner in which she told the guests to get out of line, the manager simply looked at us and did not respond at all to our concern. Not even an apology. Once inside the room, the "host" did not explain one thing (i.e., what is going to take place, when we can leave the room, what they do with the cupcakes when they take them away, etc.). There were no napkins set out for the party. We had one pitcher of coke and one pitcher of Sprite, flat and no ice for 25 guests. The pitchers I am sure were sitting all day. Next came the burnt pizza (yes, burnt. I even took pictures because I was in disbelief). The cupcakes were disgustingly hard (either overcooked or stale). Our room decor was changed in the middle of the party in the private room (it must have been a party for a girl before ours. We were supposed to have the boy/Ninjago theme. They took the girls off the wall and put the Ninjago's up during the party). We went to experience the 4D theater and we were sitting in our seats waiting for it to start but it never did. It broke, could not be fixed and they shut it down. Do not waste your time or money. Worst experience!

We went to Legoland on a Friday mid-day, as we were in the area to visit Sesame Place and where we live, we don't have a Legoland close by. My 3 year old daughter loved it and even my 6-month old son seemed to have a good time. The kids and parents take a train ride into the "land", my daughter talks about it every day. There is a large indoor play structure for older kids (make sure to bring socks or you will need to buy them there, only $1). Lots of ways for kids to express their creativity and the staff was great. They show movies often in their theatre which was a fun way to relax (they're 12-15 minutes in length).
I can see that this place would be a zoo on a rainy day, however, the day we went, was sunny so we didn't experience any sort of crowd. Beware when leaving, like most places aimed towards kids, you need to walk through a large Lego shop before exiting!

The kids loved the place, but at 23.95 PP it’s pricey for brick play and a simple train ride with a 4d movie. There are no little LEGO people anywhere is sight. Yes there is tons of bricks for the kids to play with, but the games they played with the kids was lame.
For a family of five it wasn’t worth the price
