The submarine sits behind the Carnegie Science Museum and is worth the money to view. You have to be reasonably nimble to navigate through the doorways to the different compartments in the submarine itself. Everything is authentic and it's a great way to see a...More

Very nice experience on the Requin. To experience the confinement and to see what it would be like to live on a sub for months at a time was interesting.

You can tour throughout the submarine. Also, it is linked to the Science Center, so once you have purchased tickets to the museum, then you can head out and tour the sub.

Because my hubby was on submarines the tour guides really got a lot of info from him. I had to leave because of the Diesel smell.

Part of the Carnegie Science Center & a must see. George (guide in torpedo room) was excellent & had served on a sub similar to the Requin. He graciously shared some of his memories of life on a sub which made our tour very memorable....More

What a pleasant surprise to find this submarine right out in the Ohio River! Was not expecting that. Take a minute and check it out when in Pittsburgh!

This is a neat little side trip to see from the Carnegie Science Center. If you're claustrophobic then maybe stay away. It is a tight fit but it is neat to see some of the old things inside. The kids like it.

The center is closed "for renovations related to the new PPG Science Pavilion", according to the website. It should be open on your last day, the 14th, though. You can walk by and see the sub fine from the walking path... More

It's free with admission to the Science Center. I am not sure you can buy admission to *only* the USS Requin.

You can still l park in the Museum lot. I think it is free. You would just walk down to the river and sub is right there. It is cool - small and claustrophobic and every inch is used - I mean every inch!! You will love it.
