If this is the true "National" Aviary then it is very sad! There are only a handful of exhibits in a dilapidated building in a sketchy section of town. It was not worth the admission price and we were very disappointed. Our daughter loves birds and we thought this would be a cool experience, but it was not cool. They... More

If you like ALL kind of birds, this is the place to go. It's only a block away from the Children's Museum and a great way to spend a few hours with your kids.

I went here on Vulture Awareness Day, unbeknownst to me. I looked it up; it's a thing. Anyway, I saw the feeding of the Andean condor that day. The bird, which is bigger than my wife (by some measures), cautiously walked up to the melon stuffed with raw meat. Peck. Peck peck. then a hovering giant bird tore apart the... More

We didn't stay long at the Aviary, but enjoyed about an hour there. Tropical Rain Forest had nice peacocks walking loose and a pretty macaw. We enjoyed a feeding of the penguins and an informative talk about their habits. There were benches for sitting to watch the penguins and a few other places inside. Also got to see them feed... I loved this place! I don't consider myself an obsessed birder but one on the more casual side. It was an opportunity for me to see up close and personal the ones I only have seen in books. They were all in the appropriate environment and the space is designed in such a way you easily go from climate to... More

Our visit was with our family of four with 2 children ages 5 and 3. Our 5 year old has recently become a bird enthusiast so we thought that this might make an enjoyable experience. I would say that we were not disappointed. The aviary is not a huge place so don't expect an all-day experience unless you plan to... More

What a great place! Everyone was so helpful and friendly. The exhibits were very well designed, there were always birds being fed somewhere! The show was excellent. You really get up close and personal with the birds. All the staff were incredibly knowledgeable about the birds. We learned a lot and saw an amazing variety of birds from all over... More

I would have really enjoyed my time at the National Aviary had it not been for a wanton attack by a very RUDE BIRD.. Before I go any further I should say while my girlfriend certainly isn't skinny as a piece of dental floss, she isnt a joey bag-o'-donuts neither. We were just walking along the hallway minding our own... More
