This was by far the best attraction on my vacation to Pittsburgh. The conservatory consists of several greenhouses connected to a Victorian fern garden. Be sure to visit the new rainforest located at the rear of the complex. They also have an excellent gift shop with some very nice local pottery for sale. Free parking was also a big plus... More

My wife and I go at least four times a year by our selves and always have a meal at the café. Everything is just as we enjoy! At least twice a year we take our grandchildren along to enjoy the flora and fauna and learn about all of the diversity in plants. Our favorite times are the Spring and... More

I went with a group of ladies from church & we enjoyed strolling through the various gardens. The spring hyacinth room had spectacular fragrance. Loved the orchid room & the butterfly room.

Under the glass dome of Phipps Conservatory is a cornucopia of nature's biodiversity across the world...from lush tropical foliage, the tough, sturdy plants, blooms and cacti of desert regions, the dense abundance of the Congo basin replete with replicas of hutments, waterfall and pools, the colourful blooms that attract nature's pollinators, the delicate designs of orchids, fruit and spice collections,... Wonderful combinations of plants and art. We had an excellent time and hated that we could not spend more time there.

We had a great time here (our first). I especially enjoyed the Orchids (as would Rex Stout and/or Nero Wolfe I think), but everything was delightful! I'd highly recommend a couple of hours here!

The Phipps is a wonderful place to behold. If you are a flower lover and enjoy their smell and beauty, this is the place for you. They have seasonal displays that are even more beautiful than it is every day. Sometime the lines are long and move slowly but still very much worth it. It is relaxing and definitely a... More
