This is a massive building and is located next to downtown. Very convenient.

I've been a delegate at a big, annual, international event held at the David Lawrence Convention Centre twice and it's a great place. I'm always amazed at its size. It's huge, but there's an element of Doctor Who's Tardis about it. Inside, it seems to go on forever, there are massive halls to the left and the right, smaller rooms too and one massive room, the name of which I can't remember, something like the Spirit of Pittsburgh grand ballroom, which is absolutely huge. From the outside, however, it's almost invisible, which is very strange. Great place, though, and perfect for any kind of big event be it a steel convention or a heavy metal concert.

There is a beautiful view of the water. Conference Center can hold the biggest groups you can imagine. The staff is top quality. There are several Hotels in walking distance which I would suggest so you don't have to drive back and forth.

This building is a fantastic addition to the Pittsburgh skyline. It overlooks the river and has some truly fantastic views. Parking is a cinch between the garage and the nearby lots for the Strip District. It is a super easy drive to the airport and is in the heart of downtown, yet close to the stadiums and food and entertainment.
I only wish the insides matched the outsides. Inside, be prepared for dizzying striped carpet, unforgiving concrete floors, and very little in the way of seating for the elderly or disabled.
I take my family to the Home and Garden Show every spring and we're always at a loss for finding a place for the older folks to sit down and relax their muscles. For a place that boasts miles and miles of the best in Home and Garden, there isn't much in the name of guest relaxation!
Also, plan to eat elsewhere unless you like low-quality stadium fare!

Clean, but terrible food! Prices charged for admission is always a bit high, I think, for what you get at least.

Wow! This was a surprisingly beautiful array of artists and craftspeople. As an artist myself, I have visited innumerable expos over the years and this was the best! The outstanding quality of the work, the ingenuity of design and substantive nature of the product components, ranging from fabric, to glass, wood, metal and other ingenious substances, made this a true joy. I wish I had known about it years ago. Though some items could be considered expensive, the unique nature and obvious quality of them make the cost reasonable. AND ADMISSION IS FREE!!! (Parking at the Convention Center was a flat rate, but with 5 of us, not overwhelming.)

Went to the RV show a month ago and loved the experience although the advantage of being able to actually enter so many different RVs made deciding on one a little more difficult! Of course, when making a choice before buying a big ticket item it is great that one can see so many in one place at one time!.

What's good: river view, cat walk over the large trade show floor, good audio visual in ballrooms and class rooms, sweet lady in the souvenir shop, downtown location. Not so great: balconies overlooking the river taken over by smokers, confusing layout and signs, not enough food options or trash cans.

Very pleasantly surprised with the way the convention center handled a small class. Have only ever been here for a large conventions. The service was still impeccable for the small class setting.

The center has everything you could ask for.
Good food. Exreamly nice decks and terraces to take a break on. Comfortable meetings room. Nice auditorium.

And the carpet was so soft under foot on convention floor.
