This is a beautiful community park and carousel. The grounds are nicely kept and the park has ample buildings for many activities. The only two we saw in use, other than picnic areas, were the carousel and the mini golf course. You buy the tickets at the mini golf stand and then one of the workers comes up to run the carousel. We're members of the National Carousel Association and came here to ride it. It's one of only 3 carousels made by Dentzel where the animals spin but don't jump. Overall it's nicely preserved. A plaque says the carousel was made in 1923. It turns out that was the year the city bought the carousel from the Dentzel Company for a good price (stationary carousels cost less than ones with animals that jump). It was made around 1900 and refurbished in 1917 by Dentzel. The animals date to the 1890’s, 1905 and 1917. Almost all the 2nd and 3rd row horses are prancers (2 feet on the ground, 2 in the air) - something I've never seen before. The giraffes, goats, deer and zebra were very beautiful too. It’s a beautiful piece of history that the town obviously cherishes – a real treasure.

Have taken my kids here since toddlers..now in their 40's themselves and they take their kids there. Sometimes the older teens hang out there and we leave. Still has that old time park charm..and great memories.

Attended a family reunion at Weona Park today. Haven’t been there in about 15 or so years. The pavilion, mini golf and playground appear to be all recently refurbished. The park is cleaner, brighter and overall nicer than I remember. On the downside, the pool was empty and rumor has it that it will not be reopening. The carousel is in beautiful shape and I was thrilled my niece and nephew were able to experience it.

It’s a National treasure for sure. The animals are unique, from giraffes, big horned deer, to beautifully painted horses. The price to ride is the lowest of the 3 carousels that I rode this week. The only drawback is that all the animals are stationary, none of the up and down rides that you might expect. There is also a mini golf course next door, that is harder than it looks. Unfortunately, there were no trees for shade amd it was hot the evening I visited. There is also a playground nearby for younger and older children can use. Check the local papers for the listing of frequent musical events also there in the summer.

This is a great family park complete with a miniature golf course, a band stand, and even an antique carousel that only costs $1 to ride! It has a nice playground, baseball field, concession stands and a swimming pool which has been closed for repairs. The park is used for several community events including summer music concerts, fairs, and festivities.
