I have never been to the Elmwood Park Zoo so my rating is based on this event. When I saw that they had a Holiday Light Exhibit with “millions of lights illuminating all 16 acres” I was so excited to buy tickets and go! We...More
This is a great, friendly zoo. It is smaller, but still lots to see and do. I like that I can easily do the whole zoo in a few hours with my toddlers. Very clean, not too crowded whenever I've been there. They have a...More
This is a nice little zoo with enough to see to keep you busy for a few hours. Our little guy had a great time. He also really enjoyed the carousel. My only issue with this place is the food was terrible. Next time we...More
What an amazing surprise! Whoo knew there was a great zoo here? Highly recommended!
I came with my nephew, 1 and 4 years. In about 2 hours, we saw most everything, which was about their attention span, so that was perfect.
They have many animals...More
I took 10 girls to the zoo to earn a Junior Girl Scout badge. The staff at the zoo were wonderful. The girls had a chance to touch several exotic animals including a snake. The improvements at the zoo are remarkable. The zoo is now...More

My husband and I took a ride to this zoo. It’s cheaply priced as far as zoos go and they allowed us to use a coupon so it was even cheaper. It is small and they are doing some construction so three animals were not...More
The staff here was all very friendly and helpful. The zoo never got overcrowded, and very easy to navigate. We love feeding the giraffes when we go! The only complaint I have is there were a few exibits that weren't open. Other than that we...More
This is my second time visiting Elmwood zoo. The price is okay, should be cheaper considering it is a small zoo. This zoo is great for small kids, it is not overwhelming, it is easy to get around. My 2 year old was mostly fascinated...More

Hi Kristy, Full disclosure - The adult climb has some very challenging obstacles even for adults with large steps required (read adult size legs needed). Courage and good balance is a definite plus. Only you can know if your kids are up for the challenge. Clipping and unclipping on either course can make little hands tired if they've not done it before. They would need to be accompanied by an able adult on the big climb who can also help them attach properly for the zips.
