This boat tour is a 45 minute trip that leaves from behind the Landing Restaurant and goes up and thru the new toll bridge and then down toward the wing dam and back up the Pennsylvania side. Captain Tim gives some history of the river and how high the water has been during floods. It's very laid back and relieves some of the pressure from walking the hot and busy streets of New Hope. It's also interesting to see the river homes from the backside. River tours are only on Saturday and Sunday and are on the hour usually from noon until 6 pm. The cost was $12 for adults and $8 for children, under 2 were free. You do have to walk down stairs to get to the dock. The boat is covered and has a limited seating capacity so it's a good idea to buy the tickets early. It was sold out twice when we wanted to go.

My family and I all enjoy this ride. It is quiet, relaxing, and a great way to get away from the crowds and noise of the motorcycles. The Captain is very friendly, and I like the info he gives during the ride, about the floods, the houses, and other small tidbits of history, that we wouldn’t know. We do the ride every time we’re in the area, and enjoy just being able to unwind, and take in the scenery. If you’re looking for a boisterous ride, where people are “partying”, this is not the ride for you. It’s for relaxing, and enjoying a quiet ride. The last time we were there, the price was $12 for adults, and $8 for kids 3 and older. They launch from behind The Landing restaurant, and there is a public bathroom, right at the top of the waiting area, which is very convenient, since the ride is about 45 minutes.

Basically for us (a couple) this was $24 for a 40 minute river trip and we might as well have had lunch in the adjacent restaurant looking at the river. The so called narration was a few uninteresting titbits delivered unenthusiastically and the whole thing was a waste of money.

The boat ride which lasts almost an our is relaxing in the summer. The captain shares some interesting historical facts along the way. The cost is expensive for a family but still considered a must do when in New Hope. There is an ice cream shop on the way to the boat entrance that can be enjoyed before or after the ride, also a must do!

Short review: If you've got 45min to kill and just want to ride on the river, ok cool. Expect any tour guide? Forget about it.

Long review: My husband loves to ride on a boat anytime possible. And on our first visit to New Hope, while walking down Main street we saw a sign for a ride, perfect (or so we thought)! We purchased our tickets and hopped on the pontoon-like boat. The boat captain and his wife, clearly are very familiar with the area. But do they bother to do any tour guidance NO! There were brief mentions about the depth of the water, two floods, the bridges and oh - he pointed out a bird. My husband was left to look on wikipedia after the ride. What a disappointment!

As of today the ride is ( PERMANENTLY CLOSED ) and the boat is for sale ... This is perhaps brought on by mother nature this area has suffered severe damage due to flooding and the river is so high it looks like the Mississippi

we did this ride last year. it was reasonably priced but it was not all that exciting. The skipper barely narrated the trip and did nothing to motivate the rest of the passengers on the boat.
