We like to go for at least one, 3-4 mile power walk a week - for a change of pace, thought we'd try out Peace Valley Park. It was worth the drive and we had a great time. We opted not to walk the whole...More

Easy to get to from the Phila. suburbs. Well maintained, clean park, located in a serene setting. Nice boat launch, beautiful lake, perfect for an early morning, or early evening paddle.

Camping and Hiking near Jamison (0 Replies)
Hope I am posting in the correct forum. While a friend attends a retreat near Jamison in mid September, I would like to camp nearby within 30 min, max 60 min. I don't mind driving 1 hr+ for great day hikes and don't mind changing campsites over the 4 days that I'll be in the area. May have a hybrId style bike with me or will rent one if possible so would like spots for casual riding; I read about the Towpath but not sure if it's convenient to my travels. Would like suggestions for places to...More

I'm not a camper nor a hiker, but I am a cyclist. If you have a hybrid bike, you may want to try the canal trail along the Delaware River, but on the NJ side, not the PA side. You can pick up the trail in Stockton, NJ, which is about a 15-20 minute drive from Jamison. Biking north along the trail takes you to Bulls Island, a state park that also has camping. If you need to rent bikes, there is sometimes (weekends) a bike rental place in Stockton (at Prallsville Mill), or head north to...More
