The Julius Sturgis Pretzel Bakery, established in 1861, is the first commercial pretzel bakery in America. As of August 2007, the site is under new ownership. The bakery and store have been completely renovated and are now operated once again by the Sturgis family. Visitors can tour the original pretzel bakery, see soft pretzels being made by hand, and find pretzels baked by the oldest pretzel baking family in the United States.

This was an enjoyable tour that took you back in time When pretzels were first made. When you tour the factory you actually stand at the original table and roll out a pretzel. Very informative and interesting

It's a short 20 minute tour that is fun and informative. The staff in the store and on the tour were very friendly. There is a parking lot right next to the store, and the town is beautiful and well worth a leisurely walk.

There have a 1/2 tour and talked about the pretzel factory and how the pretzels were made. They had us roll a piece of dough and showed us how to make a pretzel. Have a large selection of pretzels for sale.

If you think a pretzel is a pretzel, then you need to take this tour and taste the difference! You see where and how hard pretzels were made for many years... and you even get to try your hand at twisting.

I was pleasantly surprised with all the history and enjoyed the pretzels. They let you make some, with play dough and they give you real samples

We enjoyed the tour AND the pretzels! The history and family legacy of this place is fascinating. It was well worth the admission fee!
