More
The Lancaster Marionette Theatre is one of the few marionette theatres in America, located in Historic Downtown Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Robert Brock, the founder and Artistic Director, keeps this unique art form alive and well. He creates all the marionettes used in HIW productions, writes the scripts and music and performs in his unique one-man style. His humor appeals to children, as well as grown-ups. The John Durang Puppet Museum is open before performances. John Durang was the first puppeteer to be born in the USA. He was born in Lancaster in 1768. Backstage tours are given prior to every performance. The Marionette Theatre welcomes field trip groups. We hope to see you soon at one of our exciting shows. Thanks for visiting!

Fairly cheap tickets with a small museum and back stage tour beforehand. Kids loved the Aladdin and his lamp production plus it's a short walk to Central Market. Would highly recommend for kids and adults.

Exceptionally well done, with so much love you can't help but enjoy it. Kids of all ages were visiting when I was there and everyone had a great time. Backstage tour shows how much effort goes into the production. Absolutely loved it.

If you park on the street, you need to plug meters. The take quarters and you get 10 minutes per quarter. There is the Prince Street Garage and the Water Street Garage.

We purchased our tickets online but you can also purchase them at the theater. You should call to make sure they haven't been sold out before driving there.
