- Songbird865Pueblo, Colorado567 contributionsLots of good looking food.Lots of prepared food stalls ans several produce. I was expecting more crafts and amish/mennonite fare etc. Enjoyed walking around and seeing the variety offered. The goat stall had great goat cheese with cherries and something different-goat sticks (as opposed to beef). Prices very reasonable at the coffee stand. A nice outing but do not plan to spend a lengthy time here.Visited June 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten June 27, 2024
- Tina M4 contributionsAnne Marie Giordano rest in peace sister Mary Paul .My family was visiting for a celebration of life on 10/5/2024 , I offered to drive them to the market and pick them up , as a gift of appreciation they purchased this “free spirit “ rose for me. I had to go to work after we returned home , and was tardy with the water . Let us not waste , or find fault in tardiness with lives essentials , nothing is too late to cherish. It’s merely transformed into that of a “ free spirited “ rose .Visited October 2024Traveled with familyWritten October 7, 2024
- JohnNew Jersey2,804 contributionsCheck it out if you are in Lancaster! For me, this was a rainy day "thing to do". I've actually never been to "downtown" Lancaster so it was fun to check out. It was busy but not overly crowded. I think I went relatively early (10AM) and spent some time walking around. I only bought a cup of coffee but it looked like they had all kinds of goodies. Cool old building, as well.Visited September 2024Traveled soloWritten October 9, 2024
- 697billmAllison Park, Pennsylvania351 contributionsShoppingMy wife and another couple went here to check it out. Great variety of food and produce. There were several placer to get something to eat, or enjoy a sweat desert snack. We went on a Saturday Morning and it was very crowded. Great place to get fresh produce. If you like to shop for food this is great place. Unfortunately there are only a few booths selling non food product.Visited October 2024Traveled with friendsWritten October 20, 2024
- olivias33Southampton, New York259 contributionsAmazing! This market is inside but only open certain days and times. There are rows and rows of venders. They have fresh vegetables, seafood, pretzels, baked goods and much more. There is a parking garage around the corner.Visited November 2024Traveled with familyWritten November 11, 2024

Loved the historic building and all the local vendors. My husband spent 6 weeks in vin Lancaster as musical director for the Peoples Shakespeare Project. He had a studio a few blocks away and was able to walk to Central Market and buy fresh food to cook. This was a big pluscto his stay. There was a mix of trendy ethnic cooked foods to eat at nearby tables and then fresh produce and meats from local area farmers. Herbalist selling tinctures and medicinal blends, bulk tea, honey/jams, empanadas, pretzels, and some handcraft items to boot. Some Amish and Mennonite farmers as well as traditional family farms, some organic. There was limited seating indoors for takeout dining and public bathrooms. We like supporting local economies as much as possible and the meatsxwere much cheaper than back in NYC Farmers Markets.

I came here once as a child when visiting an aunt & uncle. Was so glad that my husband & I could experience this place together. I really didn't remember it but that's ok. It's something you should experience if in Lancaster County. It was a little pricier than I thought it would be but we did find some very good homemade jams, pumpkin/apple butters and soft pretzels. We didn't see much in the way of "take home" type gifts but we did enjoy the foods, coffee, and pastries. Yum! It's all indoors so we wore masks but it wasn't overly crowded. We got there when it opened on a Friday. Lancaster is an old City and appeared to be quite busy but we wanted to make the drive in for the Market. Cool place to see.

This well-known indoor market is absolutely worth a visit if you're in the area. They have a large diversity of offerings, most of which are food (rather than gifts you can take home), but all of the food we tried was very good. The food was a bit on the pricier side, but worth trying while you're here. It's a bit on the crowded side, especially as the weather gets cooler and there's less to do outside, so if you're still nervous about crowds, then time your visit accordingly.

All of the booths that were open provided fresh or preserved goods that were of high quality. They offered many options to purchase and the price range for the goods were acceptable.
It was not overly crowded and parking was very close in proximity of the Market.
However, many of the booths (33%) were empty. It was a Friday late morning early afternoon. The expectations were that almost all vendors would be in attendance.
We were able to make several purchases and left the market after about 90 minutes. Definitely content as we exited.

We expected this to be really cool and to spend a few hours browsing booths, sampling foods, and checking out Amish type products. Instead, we were there for maybe 30 minutes. Mostly produce, a few food stands, and only a couple of other misc booths. We paid for 2 hours of parking, which was more than we spent at the market. This is much more of a local farmers market than a central market you would find in other cities. We were very disappointed and not worth the visit.

Great place to visit while in Lancaster City. If you go on a Saturday, make sure you go early in the morning since it gets crowded later in the day. Many different types of venders which specialized in meats, fish, dairy, nuts, coffee, tea, flowers, pickles, desserts, cheese, crafts, etc. You name it...it's probably there. A little on the expensive side but it's part of the market experience. The building is a historic landmark, which is very interesting to look at while sitting and eating your treats. Definitely would recommend a visit.

It was raining so we decided an indoor market was a good place to start the day. We were not dissatisfied. Breakfast was made with produce straight from the farm. The vendors were knowledgeable and friendly. Overall a great way to spend a leisurely Saturday morning! Can’t wait to go back.

Cute little market with a lot of variety in types of food and items. Has everything from meats to fruit and pastries to towels. It was pretty crowded and tight so not great during the pandemic and things were a bit overpriced but worth a go if you are traveling through the area.

Check the hours before you go and get there early. It was a very hot day when we went and there is no a/c there. Beautiful flowers at several stalls. The meat and deli items looked delicious and were cheaper than the area where we live. **
If you live far away bring a cooler and get some ice. Wish we had!** Food to purchase ready to eat including some gluten free bakery items. Prices are high on some things so look around before you purchase.

If you are looking for a place to sample all that Lancaster has to offer, you definitely should pay a visit here. I would recommend bringing some cash because some vendors do not take credit cards. You can find a wide variety of fresh local produce, beautiful meats, some of the finest baked goods, and food vendors. Not to mention it is all under one roof.

When is the best time to visit with three kids? Any breakfast options inside? We will most likely visit the Friday, week before Halloween.

Midmorning on Tuesday or Friday is best. Many items for sale to eat for breakfast and a few tables available. More seating upstairs.

They are open year-round Tuesdays Fridays and Saturdays and they open at 6 AM. I would check the website in case something has changed and major holiday closings.
