This museum is tucked in Lancaster and is really impressive. I was in awe of the variety of birds on display in the basement. The rotating main exhibits on the main floor are great. I've been here several times and every time the staff are friendly and helpful. From the moment you walk in until you leave, you'll be impressed with how much they have tucked into a building that is much bigger inside than it looks from the street. There is a reptile room and a live beehive outside, that can be viewed safely from inside the building. There is a neat area for kids to play and a planetarium. We enjoy ourselves every time we go. The museum is also really dedicated to the community, and partners with local agencies to help adults with intellectual disabilities engage with the community. This is a great organization that I'm happy to support.

We went here with our daughter (age 3) because we were staying in Lancaster a few nights and she wanted to see snakes. She was not disappointed she loved seeing everything and the snakes as well. There is so much to see and she couldn’t stop looking. We spent about 1.5 hours until she was to tired to keep looking. Worth the trip and fun for all ages

We took our 5 year old grandson here to see the dinosaur exhibit. Much to our surprise, we were able to keep him interested and engaged in many of the exhibits here and spent 4 hours exploring this small museum with him! He loved the dinosaur exhibit of course, but also enjoyed touching and feeding the live animals and doing many of the hands on activities they have here for kids. We paid the extra fee to see a short film in the planetarium. They have different shows that are age appropriate for different guests. Definitely worth a morning or afternoon spent here with kids!

Seven year old grandson loved our adventure yesterday. The staff, in particular the two young woman who spent time with Nate feeding the critters petting explaining ect with such patience. Lovely. Thank you. The planetarium movie was just perfect. On the bottom floor he met a young girl participating with a Y camp who showed him around. So nice. It’s not big. It’s not flashy. It’s just right. Btw. The pic is of Hector the European Glass Lizard 🦎 having lunch.

We took the grandkids, 5 and 7, to the North Museum in Lancaster. It’s located on the campus of Franklin and Marshall College. What a fantastic experience! There is a room with live animals that is staffed so the kids could hold a snake, pet a turtle, see a giant lizard up close, and many other critters. On the wall was the skin of an anaconda- WOW. They have a planetarium that’s used to show movies. We watched one about robots who go on a field trip and end up riding a spaceship to the moon and sun. It was very cute, informative and age appropriate. There is another show geared to older kids. One of the grands favorite things was pretending they were astronauts and picking up moon rocks. The two headed calf blew our grandson away. On the bottom floor there are all kinds of taxidermy birds, crystals, rocks, and pull out drawers with interesting animals and sea creatures. Throughout the museum there are fun interactive activities and also a fabulous microscope. The staff is super friendly and positive. This was definitely one of our grandkids favorite museums and well worth our hour drive. Can’t wait to visit again next summer.
