Lots to learn
Feb 2020 • Couples
I personally forage for wild mushrooms, so I have been waiting to get the chance to visit Philips. I recommend you watch the videos, that show and give all kinds of information. I personally loved the fruiting room with all of the different mushrooms. We visited the gift shop where they have all kinds of mushroom items, but we liked that you can purchase fresh mushrooms right there, and ended up buying mushrooms 3 different times that afternoon. Lol. If you like to cook, can’t get any fresher. Also, really nice people.

I had no idea mushrooms were so good for us. It was fascinating to see the way they grow and watch a couple of short videos about them.

Who knew mushrooms were so good for you?
Dec 2019
Walls of interesting facts about all kinds of mushrooms. A small walk-in area of actual mushrooms growing as they do in the nearby warehouse grow rooms. Videos to explain and illustrate every step of mushrooming from growing and harvesting, to distributing, preparing, and enjoying. (Unfortunately, the computer froze for us and we could not access all the videos.) Delightful gift shop with sundries, books, games, clothing, and a plethora of mushrooms, (fresh, marinated, dried) and convenient cooking options (dried soups, dips, pasta). Something for every mushroom enthusiast!

Enjoying the fungus among us
Dec 2019 • Family
This was a really fun spur of the moment afternoon. Really interesting to see how mushrooms grow and learn about the history of Kennett Square mushrooms and especially the Phillips family. Gift shop is interesting and has unique gifts. It was wonderful to purchase a variety of fresh mushrooms to take back to New York! Staff was exceptionally helpful and nice. Definitely a stop to make time to visit! Would go back when visiting near Philly to get freshest mushrooms.

Quirky but wonderful small museum
Dec 2019
This is a small museum where you can learn about mushrooms and watch a few short snippets on preparation and caring for mushrooms. You can go into to the small replica room to see mushrooms growing and then to the store where we met the farmer family and talked more about mushrooms and bought some. Was fun and interesting.

Mushroom wonderland!
Nov 2019 • Solo
This place is literally a mushroom wonderland. Every type of mushroom you can imagine, all grown on their farm, reasonably priced. Add to that pickled, dried, powders, soups, and mushroom novelties you never even knew existed! Oh, did I mention the FANTASTIC SERVICE every single time! Everyone is knowledgeable about the varieties and products, willing to help and make suggestions, and super friendly!

Mushroom Heaven
Sep 2019 • Couples
We have started going to the Mushroom Festival in Kenneth Square PA and found their booth in the festival. The workers we all so friendly and helpful. They told us about the store so we went the following day. Sharon greeted us like we were family. Offered mushroom coffee took us on brief tour of the store which is beautiful. She also filled us in on other place we went to or was looking into going. We love their products and truly enjoyed shopping there. We will do the mushroom exhibit next year. Would recommend stopping by to learn about mushrooms and history of the town.

All Things Mushroom
Apr 2019 • Couples
This is a quirky, off-the-beaten path attraction that will satisfy the mushroom lovers of the world. They grow mushrooms, sell mushrooms, teach you about mushrooms, cook mushrooms and sell an assortment of mushroom souvenirs and clothing items. There are items for people of all ages.
The museum is small, but if you read all the information provided on posters on the wall, you will learn about the history of the company, why mushrooms grow so well in this area, and how the mushrooms are grown. You will also learn about the various varieties of mushrooms that are available. One thing you won't soon forget is the ever-present scent in the air. You will smell it even after you have left!
The staff is friendly, the parking is easy and the surrounding countryside is beautiful! Spend an hour or two here and you won't forget the experience. Stop and smell the mushrooms!
