We booked a table for a New Year's Eve brunch in the Cafe. The staff were so friendly, efficient and courteous despite the influx of people and the long lines of people. Some people chose to abuse the staff for the 'lack' of staff and for having to wait so long! We were nothing but impressed how the adequate staff took the abuse still with a smile on their face and worked flat-out and efficiently. Despite the amount of people, the food was served quickly and was scrumptious. We have never been disappointed with The Milk Factory Cafe or Restaurant and come back here often. Us locals count this place as one of our best secrets. We'll be back!!!!!

My wife and I decided to visit port Macquarie and wanted to support local businesses as much as possible during these times
The cafe at the Wyong milk factory was a great breakfast stop only 1.5hr north of Sydney. Service was fast and friendly and the food was very good. If you heading north from Sydney trust me take the slight detour you won’t be discounted.

Left Sydney and arrived around 1:30pm. Directions were easy using Apple Maps. We immediately done a quick walk around to ear mark all the places that we wanted to visit. The Little Creek Cheese shop, the Gelato bar, the riverside and boat hire, the kids playground with inflatable was a favour and the Luka Chocolate store. We did a scout out of the Wyong Milk Factory Tavern. What a very fascinating interior. The wall features and decor on the ceiling etc was authentic to the original place. It has many nooks and crannies to sit, explore or even hide! Definitely one of my favour venues to visit, however we headed into the Wyong Milk Factory Cafe for a quick bite before closing at 3pm. We settled for the Vegan burger, Thai Turkish wrap and nuggets with chips for the kiddies. The staff were nice, the food service was reasonable quick and the food was yummy and fresh. We all enjoyed the spiral potato chip! They were the family favours! You must try them! Fresh, tasty and cooked in clean oil. Well done to the chef! After Lunch we couldn't resist heading straight for Luka Chocolates and brought some lovely little boutique bites of dark chocolate. Locally made and so smooth and yummy. Then mum wanted to hit up the Little Creek Cheese tasting. Our favourite was the award winning Goat salad cheese with garlic and dill. So yummy. We had to buy a small container for takeaways. Then the kids pushed us into the Gelato bar for a scoop of Sticky date cookie, Turkish delight and Hazelnut gelato treats. Then grabbed a comfy seat on the riverbank watching the giant base jumping upstream through the fishway. I didn't realise they grew that big here. After consuming all those calories it was time to hire a boat for an hour and take a beautiful row out onto the river. The breeze was refreshing and the bird life was ample. So romantic for me and the wife, but the kids didn't approve. Lol. Next time they can grab themselves a kayak. Overall, I would certainly recommend this place for the family or even couples wanting to get away for the half day. We definitely enjoyed our time there! Kayaks were $20 per hour, row boat $30 per hour. The toilet facilities were always clean, tidy and fresh. They also has a fantastic gym onsite too.

I had a table booked for the tavern Saturday @ 11am for 20 people last weekend for my daughters 2nd birthday lunch.
I spoke with a lovely lady on 3 separate occasions making sure the details were correct so everything went smoothly on the day . Everything was confirmed along with permission for an entertainer to pop in & greet my daughter for 30 minutes . We arrived just before 11am & to our surprise the doors were closed . I asked a staff member if they could ask what time they were opening as our guests were arriving , along with other customers .
We were then approached by an employee who failed to introduce herself , nor greet us , instead was aggressive & hostile towards us clapping her hands asking what the problem was ?
This rude , unprofessional middle aged woman whom we assume is the forefront of the tavern, ushering guests to tables etc ruined our day & was completely out of line . Firstly she stated that the tavern didn’t open until 11:30am which was incorrect as our booking was for 11am , it was in the system @11am the sign clearly stated 11am, the manager came out to open the doors for us . She then proceeded to tell me my booking exceeded in numbers due to covid , which again was incorrect & had the audacity to accuse us of being rude when we asked why were we being treated poorly with such a bad attitude ? This woman was watching every move our guests made , even to the extent of watching over my elderly mother & father line up to use the toilet . When the entertainer arrived (Emma Wiggle ) the kids faces all lit up , she popped on some music with some bubbles and invited all the tavern guests to join in with their children also . We were then approached by this same woman demanding we turn the music down otherwise she would have to ask us to leave . This was the absolute last straw for us , we no longer responded to her disgusting mannerism and refused to converse with her any further instead asking to speak with the Manager . He was lovely , well spoken , understanding , calm & like us perplexed as to why this woman was so unprofessional & making false assumptions . 3 of our guests are local small business owners & were disgusted in the way we were treated , we were intending to book next month for our eldest daughters birthday lunch also , after the experience we had last weekend we absolutely will not be going ahead , nor recommending you to anyone . This woman is bad for your business , she has a bad attitude , appalling demeaner, attacks & threatens paying customers, & ruined our whole day. She needs to learn how to carry herself & speak to people respectfully. We certainly won’t be back .

We won’t visit the cafe again. Waited half an hour just to get a seat and wait to order. The staff were really busy and flustered, and it didn’t seem like anybody was on top of the orders. We went at about 10 and by the time we got to the counter, ordered and then sat, it was about 11.
The food was really not OK. Maybe it was the rushed morning and staff, but I got one piece of dry toast, a packet of butter to spread, two eggs on the side and then a piece of bacon next to it all. I figured when you’re paying $15 you would get a meal that looks semi decent. It was truly like something out of a service station.
Friends got tiny meals that were even more expensive and literally had one cherry tomato cut in half! They had to buy a side of chips to get them through the morning, because their meals were so tiny.

Great example of reutilising an old, disused site into a community hub. The cafe is part of the bigger range of enterprises that caters for a diverse crowd. Popular with locals. Food was okay - a tad bland but a nice atmosphere.

Heading in early to get an indoor seat due to the wind we were lucky to get the last table due to others being reserved for 2 hours later. Covid safe signage but people didnt seem to follow distancing when waiting at the counter. Fresh juice was delish but bacon was very fatty, oily and overcooked which is a Sunday morning breakfast staple. Would return but get something other than bacon

Enjoyed lunch on a Thursday, and the place was very popular. We soon found out why... the food was absolutely delicious- very well-prepared, amazing cafe fare. Our steak sandwiches were beautiful and, for dessert, I enjoyed probably the best carrot cake I have ever eaten! The serves were generous and prices, very affordable.

There is a shady playground for the kids and lots of outdoor seating. With quite limited indoor seating, its probably best to go on a pleasant sunny day.

Don't go to the Milk Factory Cafe for a beautiful view or an amazing ambiance... go to enjoy the delicious food!

I would rate this place as good overall for food. They have a good selection of pub food (burgers etc) and you can also order Thai food from the bar. It was extremely busy, on the Saturday we visited for lunch, but they have plenty of tables. I like the industrial feel of the establishment with exposed air conditioning vents and old style tiles on the walls. It’s nice that we have this little piece of history on the Central Coast.

We were on our home from a trip to the Hawksbury when we stopped in for a coffee. We were pleasantly surprised to find not only a great cafe but a tavern, donut shop, chocolate shop, cheese shop and thai restaurant. We had ice cream and coffee from the cafe which was lovely and the little water view out the back is a pleasant spot to break a journey on the M1. The donuts were amazing too!
