We were a family group of 25 children and adults. Thoroughly recommend a visit. Everything was easy to book online, email questions were answered quickly and on the day every staff member we dealt with was great. We all loved the maze, the wine tasting and our byo picnic lunch in the tractor shed (booked this area for a fee just in case it rained). You can buy grazing platters, wine paddles etc if you wish and there are plenty of picnic tables with fabulous views of the maze and countryside.

We have lived a long time in the Adelaide Hills among many famous wineries like Barossa and McLaren Vale so we are used to wine tasting.
My husband and I both made the same comments, every wine was fabulous. This is unusual as generally only 1 or 2 wines are favourites.
Also great set up with the maze and families can book a picnic spot under a tree.
Unusually, you pay for the wine tasting but this isn’t a credit on the price of wine purchases. Many other wineries give a credit in sales. But, this may be due to a small number of wineries in the area.
The cheese platters were great but a lunch menu would enhance the experience of travelling the distance to get there.

What a beautiful spot for a picnic - do a wine tasting if you please, grab a coffee and just sit on the hill and admire the view. Stunning maze we all went in looking for clues and the exit (got a bit dizzy going round and round so maybe have the tasting afterwards). Kids had a blast. If it’s been raining we recommend bringing gumboots if you really care about your shoes ;) but life’s too short so get in there - great for all ages and lots of emergency exits if you can’t find your way out and you just want to head to the bar or chocolate shop.

What a little gem this winery and maze is!
Set in a glorious setting (the jacarandas were just coming in to bloom), this winery is an absolute MUST on any trip north.
We had to hurry through the maze, due to a fast approaching...and furious....storm, but it was still great fun to do.
We returned to the winery pretty soaked, but were offered towels, concern and kindness from the staff there and were able to recoup over a cheese platter and wine tasting paddle. We both loved the blueberry wine and departed taking with us quite a number of the very reasonably priced wines and liqueurs and will definitely be back!

This is the grand vision of the scion of the Mobbs farming family, created in the 1980s. It took six years to complete. It is a vast collection of lilly pilly hedges set out in the form of a classical maze, with bridges, underpasses and look-out stations included. Those who know the trick of negotiating a maze can get around it in about 20 delightful minutes; otherwise you could get deliciously lost for hours.

We were fortunate enough to be here in time for the seasonal maze: another maze with a creative form within a corn crop (yes; a Maize Maze). The corn had matured with the flowers all set, so the gates were about to be opened to let the cattle have a feast. The seasonal maze had an extra trick up its sleeve for the maze explorer, leading me around in circles until I worked it out.

The wines are gentle and sincere, and the food and wine tasting experience enthusiastically provided by well-versed staff. But no doubt about it, the Maze is the star of the show.

"Taste" is a word you would normally associate with a winery: wine tasting. But this place has taste in so many ways.

It's an adventure to get here. We travelled from Port Macquarie where we are staying for a few days. It took about half an hour. The last few km was along a gravel road through undulating countryside and tall eucalypt forests.

I was wondering if we would be the only people there. However we found the main carpark was full and so we parked in the overflow carpark. It's obviously popular and it is easy to understand why.

At the cellar door, we chose four wines to taste and they placed the four wines in glasses on a timber paddle. We had the option of sitting on a table on the deck overlooking the valley. Instead we decided to wander down the grass slope to sit on two seats looking down on the maze.

There were other people who were having a picnic on the grass. Some people had purchased lunch platters.

This is a great place for familieies in so many ways. The children would be entertained for hours in the large maze.

Back near the cellar door, we found a side room for chocolates. Wow. This was an impressive display. The whole venue says taste in so many ways.

Well worth a visit. A great place to go on a beautiful sunny day.

The winery is very welcoming and the maze is lots of fun. The space is well spread out so you can socially distance. Would recommend bringing your own picnic blanket or chairs as seating is limited. We really enjoyed the sampler wines and cheese plate.

We also recommend booking and pre-order plates of cheese as they sell out by early afternoon.

The maze itself is very impressive and challenging. Highly recommend for anyone in the area, with kids or just with friends. We got a cheese platter and wine tasting afterwards. The cheese was fine, nothing special and there was no explanation for what they were. The man who served the wine gave my partner and I 1 wine paddle each. Strangely, he chose a non-alcoholic wine for me because I was a "lady" and I "shouldn't be drinking a lot" despite us having paid for this experience (and my partner and I are both adults). Besides that, it was a good experience all up.

Our family visited the Maze and had a great time. The Maze is fun for the whole family and we all got lost for ages before finally finding our way out. We were given a competition to find creatures hidden in the maze. Admission prices were extremely reasonable and we enjoyed coffee and scones at the Cafe. Well worth to visit for a family outing.

We had a fabulous afternoon at Bago, sitting on the shady verandah, cooked by a beautiful breeze. The wines were unexpectedly great, and had memorable names - Silver Boot was an easy to drink sparkling, Dreaded Friend was a delicious full-bodied Shiraz. Dessert wines were very well catered for, with a chocolate and cherry blend, and a refreshing blueberry one both getting our ticks of approval. Tasting was done with a paddle of four wines at a time, all numbered so that there was no confusion as to which you were drinking. Three paddles later, we ended up giving the tick to nine of their wines, simply because we couldn’t stand the thought of excluding any of these wonderful creations!
Thankfully Bago also provides platters of cheese and crackers, or meats, cheese and crackers to help offset all the alcohol. We got a platter with some delicious salamis, prosciutto, three types of cheese, and a large bag of lavoche crackers for $33, which was great value.
Sitting on the verandah, looking down onto the maze, and out at the Jacaranda trees in full flower, and we couldn’t imagine a more relaxing way to spend an afternoon. Highly recommended!
