Fun Activity to add to your list!
What a place! Maze was a lot of fun, even for a couple without children. Overheard the owner was the one who created the maze, how impressive! Wide range of delicious wines with most made onsite or sourced from their family vineyards. Relaxing atmosphere with beautiful scenery.
Hi Resort37521469318, Thanks for visiting us. It’s great to hear you enjoyed your time with us. Good tip about the maze, You definitely don’t need kids to make the worthwhile. Fun is what you make it. See you again some day Reg Ian

What an amazing view of the maze, wine, food and chocolate with friends
This place was relaxing and worth the trip from Port Macquarie, it's about 30km. Bring a picnic basket, wine board holder, blanket and friends and have a stunning afternoon with magnificent views of the maze and vines. There are limited chairs to sit under cover if that is what you prefer. There are things in the works like making it more wheelchair and kid-friendly. 🤞 chocolate and wine pairings? Wheelchair - outside toilets not accessible really, inside the toilet is good. The floor in the main tasting area is gorgeous logs but difficult for a wheelchair or other walking aids Kid - the maze was a hit, it helps tire them out. There is a cubbyhouse there. I was advised they are looking into a walking chessboard and giant Jenga which I believe will be a hit. Every 2nd weekend of the month they have music. Overall great afternoon to spend time with friends, family and kids
Hi Lisamaree, That’s right, we have lots of things planned for the future including improving wheelchair accessibility. Thanks for visiting us and taking the time to write your review. Hopefully we see you again someday. Regards Ian

    Fun for the whole family
We had a fun morning in the maze. It was great having the option to find a number of different birds in the maze, as well as finding the way out. We found them all. It is a beautifully kept maze with lots of hidden treasures and 2 towers to look out over. The pop up summer maze as also easily doable in the morning. Coffee and cold drinks were welcomed as well.
Hi , Thanks for your review. It good to hear you had fun doing our maze challenge. We change the items to find each year so make sure you come back one day to check out a different challenge. See ya

    Great scenery, food and wine
We had a lovely afternoon tasting wines and exploring the maze. Everything was so easy on arrival - we chose 4 wines, given our platter and off you go. We ordered the vegan platter which was great, and there was plenty of food. We explored the maze after which took us a solid 30 mins, which was fun! Recommend to anyone, couples, families, etc.
Hi Maddy, Thanks for visiting us and also for taking the time to write a review, it’s great to hear you found it easy on arrival, that’s what we are aiming for. I hope we will see you back one day. Regards Ian

    unforgettable experience
We arrived and immediately fell in love! The place is beautiful, the service is excellent, the maze attraction is truly unique and enjoyable – you can see they invested a lot in it. Afterward, we sampled some great-priced wines and ordered a cheese platter. It was an unforgettable experience

    Exploring the Maze
The mazes were so much fun and challenging. I had a great time with a friend that I went with. Also, it is out of nature which I love. Highly recommended for singles, couples or families either local or visiting.

    Great morning.
Lovely morning spent at Bago. Great spots to set up a picnic, yummy coffee and wine tasting and the maze was so much better than expected. We brought our own nibblies but the cheese boards for purchase looked nice. The kids loved it. Will make sure it's not too long before visiting again.
Hi Allie, Thanks for your lovely comments. It’s great to hear the maze exceeded your expectations and that the coffee hit the spot. Thanks for visiting us. Regards Ian

    Sip and play
Lovely afternoon activity. Sip on some wine then get lost in a maze.😂 Wine tasting paddle very affordable at $10 and you get to choose which wines you would like to try. To be honest, the wine wasnt really to my liking however the views and surroundings more than madd up for it. The maze was a lot of fun and cheap for a family. Recommend going here.

    My teenage boys loved it
We loved our trip. My teenagers are sometimes hard to get off their phones but they did the maze while the rest of the family split up throughout. They came out with huge smiles on their faces saying they enjoyed it more than they thought they would. The scones and Saxby's soft drinks were a hit too. Will be back!
Hi Jade, That’s great to hear you boys enjoyed the maze. A lot of people think is is only for little kids but this proves it is great for all ages, young and old. See you again one day. Regards Ian

Our family visited the Maze and had a great time. The Maze is fun for the whole family and we all got lost for ages before finally finding our way out. We were given a competition to find creatures hidden in the maze. Admission prices were extremely reasonable and we enjoyed coffee and scones at the Cafe. Well worth to visit for a family outing.

We were a family group of 25 children and adults. Thoroughly recommend a visit. Everything was easy to book online, email questions were answered quickly and on the day every staff member we dealt with was great. We all loved the maze, the wine tasting and our byo picnic lunch in the tractor shed (booked this area for a fee just in case it rained). You can buy grazing platters, wine paddles etc if you wish and there are plenty of picnic tables with fabulous views of the maze and countryside.

Went as a couple. We were welcomed by a lovely bubbly lady. We first did the maze (12$ per person). Fun activity to do even without kids. Took us about 15 minutes to find the exit, my partner has a good eye. I would have spent more time. If that is the case don't worry there are also emergency exists if you give up. We then shared a wine paddle, 4 different wines, they were beautifully explained by the same lady (10$). They were all lovely especially the blueberry one. And to add a little Sparkler we treated ourselves to a cold cuts and chesse pattern (36$) enough to fill us up till late at night.
We both highly recommend this place even if you aren't wine lovers, you will find the glass for you.

We had a fabulous afternoon at Bago, sitting on the shady verandah, cooked by a beautiful breeze. The wines were unexpectedly great, and had memorable names - Silver Boot was an easy to drink sparkling, Dreaded Friend was a delicious full-bodied Shiraz. Dessert wines were very well catered for, with a chocolate and cherry blend, and a refreshing blueberry one both getting our ticks of approval. Tasting was done with a paddle of four wines at a time, all numbered so that there was no confusion as to which you were drinking. Three paddles later, we ended up giving the tick to nine of their wines, simply because we couldn’t stand the thought of excluding any of these wonderful creations!
Thankfully Bago also provides platters of cheese and crackers, or meats, cheese and crackers to help offset all the alcohol. We got a platter with some delicious salamis, prosciutto, three types of cheese, and a large bag of lavoche crackers for $33, which was great value.
Sitting on the verandah, looking down onto the maze, and out at the Jacaranda trees in full flower, and we couldn’t imagine a more relaxing way to spend an afternoon. Highly recommended!

We arrived early and had the maze to ourselves for a little while. The kids spent two hours running around the maze looking dragons and unicorns. We stopped for lunch and sat overlooking the vineyard with a lovely cafe sandwich with sangria listening to the live music whilst the kids enjoyed a sausage sandwich. We had such a lovely day. Highly recommend. Bring a picnic rug or some chairs. I loved how there was lots of shade with in umbrellas out for everyone to use.

WOW isn’t this a little gem in the middle of nowhere. It’s a few mins outside Wauchope and last 3kms are on a dry and dusty dirt road and I was wondering what we were going to when we parked the car and walked into a beautiful vista. There was a gentle breeze, a stunning maze view and a spacious veranda for couples, kids, families, prams and heaps of grass. COVID spacing and digital check-in. It was nearly full at 1130am and we saw people grazing on cheese platters and sipping on long paddles of wine and I wasn’t leaving until I tried some wine. Thought we would burn some calories first and check out the 2km maze. We paid $18 to get lost and have a lot of fun - it was genuinely hard in some sections. We got lost in the 2nd half as did a lot of other families and couples and it was actually a hoot retracing our steps. Water and a hat is best (tip) took us about an hour. People who had made it through sat under huge shady trees with lots of tables and chairs watching us bumble around and helped make me think that we could get out and not really stuck. Eventually made our way out on a high and laughing with other people. We sat up on a beautiful breezy table, overlooking the maze. Was very tempted to sit down under the trees but were nearly full with families and gave it a miss with lots of hot little kiddies running around. We choose 8 different wines - in 2 x paddles for hubby and I, at a total cost of $16. Was equivalent to a glass of wine each which was great for the driver (not me :P) The bubbles were great (sparkling white and sparking red about $18) not sweet and thoroughly enjoyed the limited edition dry Verdelho and the fortified wines. Hidden inside the cellar door was also a Russian chocolate shop that was very quaint and we picked up some small handmade treats. We purchased some of the chocolate liqueur as a birthday gift and apparently awesome in summer over ice or with soda water. They had me at the bouquet of the deep melting chocolate. So happy we wandered out to this little gem and would definitely go again.

Our first port of call is always a maze if there is an option. This one is well worth a trip down 4km of dirt road (and it’s a reasonable road).

Beautiful fixed hedge maze with three distinct sections to explore. Enjoyed the bonus extra of locating Christmas animals even if the wombat eluded us .

Make sure you book in a cheese or meat platter and tasting to recuperate. Gluten free options were available but we just had plenty of sparkling water and tea.

The kids (and adults) had a ball.
We spent around 40 mins in the maze then the kids had ice creams from the coffee shop and ran around the grass area.
Mum and I did a wine tasting which was a great price (highly recommend the blueberry rose!)

Highly recommend and will be back at Christmas time.

"Taste" is a word you would normally associate with a winery: wine tasting. But this place has taste in so many ways.

It's an adventure to get here. We travelled from Port Macquarie where we are staying for a few days. It took about half an hour. The last few km was along a gravel road through undulating countryside and tall eucalypt forests.

I was wondering if we would be the only people there. However we found the main carpark was full and so we parked in the overflow carpark. It's obviously popular and it is easy to understand why.

At the cellar door, we chose four wines to taste and they placed the four wines in glasses on a timber paddle. We had the option of sitting on a table on the deck overlooking the valley. Instead we decided to wander down the grass slope to sit on two seats looking down on the maze.

There were other people who were having a picnic on the grass. Some people had purchased lunch platters.

This is a great place for familieies in so many ways. The children would be entertained for hours in the large maze.

Back near the cellar door, we found a side room for chocolates. Wow. This was an impressive display. The whole venue says taste in so many ways.

Well worth a visit. A great place to go on a beautiful sunny day.

This was only supposed to be a stopover since we weren't sure if the kids would enjoy it but since Timbertown was closed that day (Tuesday), we made the most of a beautiful sunny winters day. Did not regret coming here at all - the kids did not want to leave the maze until they found all the fairies and gnomes (had to pass by the Maze exit many times much to the adults dismay) & the kids still talk about the maze today. They have beautiful picnic spots out on the field close to the maze or undercover. We shared cheese and meat platters (suggest to pre-order online at least 1 day prior since they need to prep this) and wine tasting packs for our family of 9 people. A larger family near our table was decked out for their picnic with a full lunch menu so can bring your own picnic meals and just pruchase maze tickets. Clean toilets, really good coffee also. The drive to the maze has some unsealed/ gravel roads (only about 10min of this) that we didn't expect but our 4WD and SUVs handled it well. Spent about 2 hours overall at the Maze.
