The village is compact, but seems to offer a good range of accommodation. In summer a number of the businesses were closed, but there was still plenty open to make it a good holiday location. It is the starting point for a number of walks of varying degrees of difficulty.

Went into the National Park to go and have a look at Thredbo on the recommendation of the information centre in Cooma. They said it a pretty little village and worth a visit. We had to pay $17 to drive into the park and onto Thredbo. Whilst i understand it is a ski resort, there was absolutely nothing there except... More

Wow such an amazing place to stay, the Hotel was so luxurious and beautiful, breakfast was the best, and loved the chairlift ride and walked to the summit Mt. Kosciuszko. Definitely beautiful surrounds and lovely staff.

I love the high country in summer and highly recommend a stay at Thredbo if you're active and want something different to a beach holiday. You don't need to be a skier to appreciate village life at Thredbo and the surrounding national park. We've just returned from a fun week at Thredbo with extended family, staying January 13-20 in a... More

Others may go to the beach but we go to the mountains. Thredbo is great... Quiet but certainly not dead, lots of activities including, bushwalking, golf, tennis, mountain biking, bobsled, swimming. While not all restaurants are open in summer a good number are and they are all relaxed. The village works hard to offer a good experience for a wide... More

Not being skiers, we opted to visit Thredbo Village in summer. We have found the village great, able to cater to all our needs. There is plenty of walks for different capabilities, adventurer sports for young & old, & many varied & delicious eateries to try. The village is very clean with plenty of accomodation on different levels available. We... More

Highly recommend visit to Thredbo. Crowds in early January were large. More staff & ticket booths open in mornings to get people processed/ticketed would be good.

Thredbo village you are a home away from home. When our home at 1000 metres is too hot we can camp for free at Diggings on the Thredbo River and come up to Thredbo, walk up Merrits Nature Track climbing 650 metres from 1420 in shade of trees by a boystrous Mountain stream fed by fresh snow taking rests on... Rydges Thredbo alpine hotel is the choice of stay if you would like a convenience walk to chairlifts for skiing. The hotel also close to restaurants and trails for bush-walking. Check in was good and same as check out. However, the room was not cleaned even we stayed there for three nights. Housekeeping only changed out towels and tidied up... More
