We watched from the front row and was great. Highly recommend!
To get the front row we arrive arround 3:10pm, the announcer was already gathering people. At 3:30pm they start feeding the pelicans. All the 50 minutes we spend there we learned a few things about Pelicans and extra infos about the animal life in the area. It was for free but if you go, remember to leave a donation. They definitely deserved.

The place is great Families with young kids. There’s a play area for little ones and rides for my older kids. Pelican feeding is great experience for kids and adults too. Food store is accessible and parking is free.

Just to see these big birds acting like domestic animals was amazing. They gather freely at the same time everyday to be hand fed. It is nice to see how locals take care of these birds.

We walked here from our accommodation as it's supposed to be the No. 1 attraction in The Entrance. I understand the activity is operated by volunteers.
We watched with our 5-year old for about 5 minutes after which she asked to leave.
We had a great deal of trouble trying to hear the information the presenter was saying due to the poor sound of the PA system. Also, we didn't see any audience participation. Maybe it's dangerous.
This "attraction" is OK if you're staying in town but don't drive a long way to see it. Had we done this we'd have been disappointed.

We are sorry to hear you did not have a positive experience during your visit to the Pelican Feed. The PA system is reasonably new, but we will keep an eye on this to make sure there is no issue with the system. When we have strong winds, unfortunately this can interfere a little.
We do encourage the Volunteers to keep a safe distance, when possible, between the public and the pelicans as they are wild birds. Our volunteers do their very best to ensure the pelican feed is delivered in a safe manner, both to the public and the pelicans.
We thank you and appreciate you providing us feedback.

Fantastic experience. I love pelicans. This place is well worth the time. Get here at least 35 min before show time. So many people come to the feeding show. Be respectful to the pelicans. The are tourist who get so close to the birds for photos then get surprisedwhen the snap at them. These are wild animals.

We took our 4 year old grandson who just loved seeing the pelicans being fed and up close. A bit difficult to get a good spot as lots of the adults were pushing to the front. The information given was interesting.

My wife & I just had a 1 night stay at The Entrance, we went for a walk to the town centre at The Entrance to see the pelican feeding which happens each day at 3:30pm. We have been to the pelican feeding on a few occasions in the past. It is a fun experience for anyone, there is a commentary given about the pelicans while they are being fed. Some of the pelicans walk through the gathered crowd, you need to be there early to get a good seat.

No matter what your age, this will always be fascinating. You get to sit and watch the pelicans being fed, getting up close and personal to the birds. They are such majestic creatures. We could not tire of watching them.

Ok so it’s a bit touristy and there are a lot of people but we still got a decent view of the pelican feeding. Recommended.

Do we have to pay to watch the pelican feeding? How much would that be?

No, the Pelican feeding is free, it's run by our wonderful team of volunteers who give up their time to feed the pelicans and help with injured birds.
