As I'm very picky with where we do what, which implies extensive research but also elements of trial and arrow. Dolphin Swim Australia proved to be an excellent experience. The boat was clean and props were neatly organised and prepared. The explanations were hearable with complimentary visual aids. The waiver was electronically sent and a friendly reminder was made by phone. In other words, everything was thought of before, which meant you could relax and enjoy the swim with the dolphins.

This is especially a great choice for Australians since travelling overseas is a bit risky right now. If your are looking for an experience just as exciting as travelling overseas, these guys are a great option! Me and my wife had such an amazing time with dolphin swim australia and were so glad they were open since we can only tour around Australia at the moment. Not only were the staff very friendly, welcoming and made everyone feel at ease on this trip but they also cared and respected the dolphins so much. They didn't try to attract them with food or anything detrimental to the dolphins but simply would ride close by. Sometimes the dolphins would engage but if they didn't, Dolphin Swim would not harass them and went out to look for a pod that was excited to swim with people. Me and my wife appreciated this more than anything. The staff were something else and did everything they could to help everyone have a good time and I simply cannot express our gratitude and appreciation for them and their hard work. We had such a great time!

Hi Ramin! Thank you for taking the time to leave such a wonderful review - we really appreciate it! We loved meeting you and Aashi and sharing this beautiful experience with you both :-). We're so lucky to be in a position where we are able to meet other people who truly love and appreciate the dolphins as much as we do and who also realise how hard we work at making sure that its the dolphins' choice to interact - or not - with our guests. We hope you both stay safe and well in these unprecedented times and hope to see you again one day. Thank you for choosing the wild option! Warm regards Lesley :-)

Received this as a birthday gift from my son, i was a little anxious at the start but the staff were so friendly and reassuring which made me feel at ease. It was a beautiful morning out early with a stunning sunrise. All the time thinking were we going to be lucky enough to see the dolphins. It did take a while before we were out in the open ocean and lucky enough to see a pod of dolphins. (It is totally up to the dolphins if they want to come and play) and with so many elements coming into affect we were lucky the dolphins decided to swim and play. Once in the water it was amazing to see them swimming and playing in their own wild environment it feels like your swimming with their pod, I'm not sure who was having more fun them or me. They are fast yet graceful and right there in front of you Amazing bucket list opportunity, thankyou for the adventure. For those that arnt sure and may think they're not young enough or fit enough or experienced with goggles or snorkles etc, you can totally do this. I can't believe I swam with wild dolphins. xx

Thank you to the crew for doing their best to give us a good experience; however, this is more of an expensive dolphin watching cruise than swim. Lovely concept, crew were knowledgeable, helpful and patient. They were kind to take free photos for us and bring around fruit/sea sick tablets etc. I liked the talk on dolphin facts on the way out. The equipment was of good quality as well and I liked the harness which I have heard other tours don’t have. However, we only had one, three-minute swim for $660. It was awesome but over by the time you got the hang of it and then found out it was your only turn. I didn’t realise the swims could be just a few minutes long and just one go in a four hour experience. If I had known this prior, I truthfully wouldn’t have booked and spent so much money - it was a real treat for us. Once onboard, the crew continuously explained that each swim is different and each day is different with so many factors out of their control, which is true of course but perhaps could be better managed. Most of the time was spent searching for the dolphins, perhaps if they had a spotter go ahead to find them and locate more than one pod, there would be more time for swimming. The company explained this would not be financially viable but would certainly give customers a better experience for the hefty price tag. Surprisingly, after contacting the organisers I was told our experience was actually “a successful day” and it was up to customers to “contact us before booking to ask how the activity works, how long the whole thing takes, how much time is spent in the water, etc”. I thoroughly read the website information which one would reasonably expect to explain the above and still did not learn how short the swim was until onboard. Would encourage more transparency around this information and to make it publically available. Glad to see a company working towards a tourist activity that it better for the animals.

Hi Alison! It was lovely to meet you and Bryce last Sunday. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review - we really appreciate it :-). I would like to touch on and clarify a couple of things you mentioned though. After you contacted us via email, we checked our underwater GoPro footage from the day because, after discussing it with the crew, we were unsure as to why you thought you only had a 3 minute swim. After checking the footage, we discovered that you had a 7 to 8 minute swim with the dolphins. This is an excellent swim duration. It is true that every tour is different because it is a wild animal experience: some days we can go out and the dolphins will be just outside the heads, whilst other days it may take us a couple of hours to locate them. We have GPS coordinates from all the swims we have done and so always go to those areas when looking for the dolphins, however they are wild animals so are not always in the same places and, despite our success rate of 90-95%, there are those 5-10% of days where we do not locate the dolphins at all. If that happens, we do offer a return within 12 months for guests at no extra cost from us. I would like to (gently) disagree with what you have quoted me as saying in our communications and therefore repost the complete comment here from my email to you: "Many guests contact us before booking to ask how the activity works, how long the whole thing takes, how much time is spent in the water, etc. Through our booking process, website and communications, we do our best to let guests know what is entailed and are always happy to answer their questions beforehand, so I'm sorry if you booked without knowing the circumstances and if there is any area where you feel we can improve that communication, we are more than happy to hear it." I'm sorry you didn't find the information you were looking for, however it is on the website under Frequently Asked Questions ("FAQs"). We do appreciate all the positive comments you made and will take your suggestions on board. We ALWAYS strive to be as transparent as possible (it is to our detriment if we aren't) and the majority of guests find that we are, however we will look at improving those communications even more. To finish, I would also suggest that guests research and ask the important questions before spending what is a reasonable amount of money. Thank you once more for your comments and suggestions, Alison, and for choosing the wild option. Kind regards Lesley Seach
