Stanley has a birdseye view of the surrounds. Stanley's story is steeped in the community & faces Birdsville where he was originally destined to live. Stop, read & marvel about his creation

Afternoon sun and this is magic. Can't miss it as you approach Lightning Ridge from the south. Close examination and it's two beetles twisted together!

Stanley the Emu is just so iconic! It expresses the quirky style of the town; the residents' creativity in up-cycling material to something bigger and grander; John Murray's metal Emu stands tall on the highway and it's not destine to be a roadkill in this...More

Definitely something different you come across before the turn into Lightening. Has a beautiful spot to stop and have a breather and relax. Definitely worth stopping and having a look at

What great piece of sculpture couldn’t find it but did a little research and visited on our way down to Walgett .

You pass it on the way into town from the south, and if you take a shot then, you don’t have to double all the way back for one later. Not really worth all the hype, but an interesting look nonetheless.

The artist who designed this statue had to have a great sense of humour. Stanley the emu stands near the Castlereagh Highway, about 10 km South of the Lightning Ridge turn-off. It’s made from scrap materials, including a car for its body and satellite dishes...More

What a clever sculpture! It is a kind of iconic sculpture to have near Lightning Ridge seeing how many emus you see in the wild. Very cleverly put together. Worth a look.
