Our last stop before returning Lennox Head is Pat Morton Lookout which must be the most popular lookout in the area because it doesn’t matter what time of day you pass here the carpark is always full and as one car leaves another drives straight in. The lookout is on the top of Lennox Point where there are seats and lovely grassy areas with views over Lennox Head and up Seven Mile Beach. This is a good spot for seeing dolphins and whales between May and October and if you don’t see these then you will probably spot surfers riding into shore. There is a higher lookout where you can also look over to the south and if you have a couple of hours to spare you can walk all the way to Ballina along the walkway.

Great view and nice walk. It has well set out steps and a nicely set out lookout. The views are lovely both North and South, and on the day we were there, birds diving into the water to catch fish. Nice stop.

Glorious views north along Seven Mile Beach to Broken Head and Cape Byron. Good surf action down below, and beautiful walks along the cliff tops through regenerated littoral rainforest (thanks to Ballina Council, GeoLINK, and the local community). Excellent whale-watching opportunities from May/June to September/October.

Visited on Tuesday 22nd June. It was very busy when we visited and after checking out the beach view you can see why.

You can see a fabulous view of the point, township and Lennox Village from the carpark if you are not interested in a walk.
Those that do will find a track and a number of stairs that leads to a wonderful view of the rocky headland and water vista, go a little further and you will see across to further beaches that join Ballina to Lennox Head,
You can sit on the chairs or grassland of the lookout and most days watch the surfers or wind gliders enjoying their day.
Enjoy yours.

A great spot to watch the whale swim past. The views along the coast line are absolutely beautiful. Well worth the walk.

Just take in the Panoramic Views from this headland. So soothing and wonderful views. Such a blessed area for perfect unwinding and appreciation of nature.

This is the place to go for views of Lennox Head up to the Byron Bay lighthouse. If you continue up the stairs you go through a revegetated rainforest area which is cool and has some interesting birds. This opens to a small flat grassy area which is good for whale watching. If you continue towards Boulders Beach you can walk all the way to Ballina experiencing forest, beaches and urban areas. It's a delightful walk.
Reasonably regularly on weekends hang gliders operate from Pat Moran lookout.
There is accar park here and a few benches where you can admire the view, watch the surf and surfers, or just reflect and relax. This can be a nice spot for a picnic although it can get windy and / or hot on certain days. There is a public toilet at this spot.
Camping and sleeping in camper vans etc is not allowed here and council inspectors check regularly.

Lennox Head lookout, was surprisingly busy when I visited here and I can see why.
There were many people, some just sitting in their cars and some just standing around, but all enjoying the great, spectacular views as far as the eye can see.
An easy stop along the coast road with plenty of parking, but you may need to squeeze in.
You can also view some para/ hangliders in the area, catching the thermals.

When visiting Lennox Head recently, we drove up to the Pat Morton Lookout. There is plenty of parking available and on the day we were there, some hang gliders were waiting for the right breeze. It is an easy walk up the hill to the lookout, so you can see the outlook towards Lennox Head and the surrounding landscape. It is worth the visit.
