Yes, some tlc is needed but remember the hard working volunteers! They do really well. Most displays are accompanied by an audio or audiovisual explanation - all included. The entrance has a barrier which controls illegal parking - a good idea, in spite of what...More

My two daughters (7 & 12) and I really enjoyed exploring the history and stories of local settlers in the Kangaroo Valley. This small community gives a picture of life during those times through the old home, slab huts, artifacts and audio commentary. My girls...More

There is an electric gate blocking the entrance because the museum got tired of people using it as a U-turn to the bridge. Pull up and the gate will open. Fun museum and well worth a visit. Really gives you an appreciation of the difficulty...More

A great place to learn the living of early settlers. Good that it has a monitor showing the history or story of the place.

Ok I get that the museum was essentially a collection of old buildings and items belonging to a local family.... perhaps I was expecting too much. The main dwelling is interesting and gives a glimpse of what rural family life would have been like a...More

We were quite disappointed at the sight that greeted us (no disrespect at all to the volunteers). The cold overcast foggy morning didn't help, as everything was rather dark and dreary. The history and artefacts are interesting but the displays overall are lacking TLC -...More

The Kangaroo Valley Pioneer Village Museum is true to label in what it displays. Life as it was through the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries displayed in separate buildings, which of themselves form part of the display. Video and Audi recordings assist in understanding what...More

We had a ball here. The kids loved everything - experiencing 19 century schooling, watching the bull show, making cheese, candle making, scavenger hunt, the farrier, sheep shearing, cow milking.... So much to see and learn. Well worth a visitMore

A very interesting attraction run by volunteers that follows the life of an early settlers family. It also charts many of the residents of the village over a number of years. It has family trees to follow and also artefacts from days gone by. There...More
