We have visited Byron Bay numerous times & still enjoy it. Although development has changed the town over the years it still captures the true beach essence of Australia. Byron Bay is one of Australia's most famous beaches & a popular tourist destination. There is plenty of good restaurants & cafes for dining the only problem is it can get... More

Byron Bay is obviously growing with more and more holiday apartments, but this is to be expected for somewhere so popular. The original part of the town has remained much the same and is bustling with people every night of the week. Live music on every corner sets the scene along with a wide variety of places to eat. The... More

We had not visited Byron Bay in some time so, not surprisingly, there were a lot of changes. The town has grown with seemingly ad hoc additions but it still retains its hippy feel and flower child vibe. Even out of peak season the trip in and out of town can be slow. The local council charge for parking so... More

20 years ago Byron was an eclectic mix of alternative and conventional on a backdrop of amazing countryside. Now it is an overcrowded and commercial epicentre. If you're a young backpacker I have no doubt that Byron will deliver. Personally I am happy with the beautiful and uncrowded beaches of my own backyard. Don't miss out on the magic of... More

We stayed across the road from the beach in the Beach Suites Byron Bay, within walking distance of everything. It's a slower time of year for Byron, so that coupled with the unseasonably warm weather made it a perfect week. We enjoyed visiting Nimbin, Mullumbimby and Bangalow. The accommodation was spacious and we had our own plunge pool. A beautiful... More

lost its original charm, just another busy shopping centre that happens to be by a beautiful beach. We enjoy the surroundings, particularly The Farm, and the Eco Board & Furniture factory. Fabulous items to be bought, really eco chopping boards of various designs & sizes, great small gifts for friends/family at home or for overseas visitors, a couple of minutes... More

It's a small village, with a lot of restaurants and shops. Yesterday stroll around and find a nice place to have your coffee. You can walk up to the beach and have a nice coffee or fish and chips.

Meander around the town and take a dip in the clear waters when it gets warm. Perfect getaway from the city
