One of our favourite places in australia. Been a fee times. Nice beaches and unusual Shops. Quite alternative style shops and eateries but not expensive. Plenty of pay to park. We easily spent the max time allowed for parking, which i think was 4 hours.

A litle hippie town with a nice vibe, great bars and nice restaurants. Beach is stunning and you might see an occasional humpback.

Arty, Fun, and Free - Byron with a range of hippies, hipsters, tourists from around the world, and yuppies. Great holiday place, very busy in school holidays.

We went to Byron bay to do some surfing and check out some views. Because we were only thre for 6 hours we didn't have enough time to do both. It was a chilly day as far as the weather goes so we opted not to do the surfing. Give yourself plenty of time if you plan to do that.... More

Byron Bay offers some of the best beaches for sea bathing, sun bathing, surfing and many water sports. Main beach - if you are too lazy to wonder about, Clarkes beach or Wategos beach - for a change and Tallow beach - will keep you glued to the sea for several days. It is a place with many speciality restaurants... More

Such a nice place, still a bit hippy, but mainstream has taken over since I first came here. Great choice of restaurants, paid parking ($ 6 for 2 hours), nice beach park, lovely beach and all in walking distance. Less than 2 hours drive from Brisbane.

I hadn't been to Byron Bay for over 12 years and noted it had changed significantly with the amount of traffic which travels through the main town. This makes it noisy and busy which is a shame. The road surfaces are badly maintained and the town has a depressed feel. The Saturday beach market is okay with a few very... More
