We did this run a few times, and you can add to it. Straight run from town centre to lighthouse approx 3.5km. Plenty of places to stop and take in the view. Very safe run/walk path. Breath taking views. Whale watching in the winter!

We love doing this loop walk. We always park at the beach at Wategoes and walk up the path to the light house and follow the loop back to Wategoes. Slightly challenging in parts but well worth the views not only at the top at...More

The views are good but if you are not that mobile give this a miss. There are lots of stairs and steep inclines. Only suitable for the very fit and mobile.

I've never managed to get inside the light house which closes at 4pm a shame when there were hordes of tourists there at 5 which is a great time to see the spectacular view of the Byron hinterland

This is an awesome activity to do and should definitely be done if you come to Byron Bay! We took an uber up to the top of the lighthouse (but you are able to walk up the same path that brings you down). Spectacular views...More

The views from the trail were spectacular & we saw whales! Also fun to take a photo of the most easterly point of the Australian mainland!

Nice walk along the cliffs up to the most eastern point in Australia. The walk goes through a bit of forest, bush and rocky cliffs. The view on the ocean is very beautiful.

This is a must while visiting Byron Bay. The hike up is challenging but coming down is great. The views are superb and you should also take a tour inside the Lighthouse and up to the top.

Really, no-one should consider visiting Byron without doing the Lighthouse Trail. The really keen take advantage of the perfect dawns but the views are picture perfect at any time of day. Watch out for parking police.

Couple of hours depending on how many times you stop to take selfies/photos. Take plenty of water if it’s hot. Take the coastal route up to the lighthouse which we think is better than doing it in reverse.
