Great walk

This is a great walk with beautiful scenery all the up, need to be a little fit to do this if starting from the main area of town. Well worth the views.

The walk up to The lighthouse is wonderful. The scenery is spectacular and during the whale season you can spot many whales and dolphins. A must to do when visiting Byron Bay. There is a coffee shop at the top so you can rest and get refreshments.

Great views a definite must do but wear covered shoes ! Take the walking track but half of it is sand and myself as well as 50% of people on the track had sandles so unless you mind sand in your shoes , sneakers are better. Take water because it's a decent walk to the first cafe.

Perfect way to see the beautiful scenery of Byron coastline and a great workout too! Awesome coastal views on the way to the lighthouse, then you can walk back through the bush.

We did this great walk during a recent trip to Byron to see the sunrise. We googled first then added 10 minutes to the trek (as a reference we were staying near the Beaches Byron restaurant). We went to catch the sunrise but wasted a bit of time looking for signs and the right way to go, for those walking,... More

Start at Captain Cook lookout walk towards the lighthouse via Wategos beach, continue at the top and turn left at the hang gliding ramp. Nice old scrub at the rear of the lighthouse brings you back to Captain Cook car park

Great walk not too hard would be better to do earlier in the morning or later in the afternoon when it wasnt so hot. Wear bathers if you want to go swimming in the beach and sneakers are recommended but not essential.

We walked from Flamingo Motel which was a long hike. The mountain has quite a few stairs through the bush to get through but there's a lovely lookout halfway along over the beaches. The top at the lighthouse is lovely with amazing views on both sides of Byron. Worth the effort!

Well worth the trek up to the lighthouse just to see the breathtaking views of Byron and surrounding landscape. Plenty of information about the lighthouse and other relevant history.
