An experience not to be missed. Whales circled the boat for nearly an hour, tail slapping, spy-hopping & swimming underneath. Beautiful, majestic, magnificent creatures. It was a memorable trip, & great fun too!

The crew are amazing, particularly during COVID.
Communication was excellent since we made the booking.
We went on an outstanding day in late June. It was recommended that we have a spray jacket as they were no providing them during COVID, but I didn’t need one. I had on the layers they were recommending, I had a denim jacket and puffer vest instead and I was fine! But if it was colder or winder I would have struggled.
The tour itself was grand. The whales were amazing beautiful as you expect! They did put on a pretty spectacular show for us. We did the 2pm cruise.
The marine biologist was excellent, friendly and approachable. The skipper will take you to where the action is. They remain their distance, but if more action is else where they will take you there.
I do suffer from sea sickness, but on the boat in moderate swell I was surprisingly ok. Didn’t eat much though during the day.
The skipper was expertly skilful in guiding us back to shore after our adventure.
Highly recommended!

Unfortunately we didn‘t have whales come up close as per some of the photos on Instagram but a great trip nevertheless. Will definitely do again if in Ballina during the season.
Whole experience a great example of understated yet professional and efficient organisation.
Great comms before and after the trip - esp text with details of best places to park in Ballina. Comfortable and well maintained boat. Excellent skipper - felt we were in good hands as he managed the notorious Ballina Bar described that day as being ˋspicy‘. Staff concerned about passengers welfare and provided excellent and informative commentary.

This was an excellent local experience and recommend all Ballina residents and surrounds take this opportunity to enjoy the river, some champagne and excellent home made goodies. Ballina looks so different from the river & you see a lot more than you think. The boat ride is so smooth and safe.
The marine biology commentary is excellent and very informative and definitely value adding.
Do yourself a favour and enjoy a beautiful sunset afternoon.

We did Snorkeling Tour - Julian Rocks Jan, 9th 2023. Warm sunny day with lots of light under water and above. Booking and finding the starting point was easy. Got snorkel and wet suit on the pier. No facilities like dressing rooms, WC (the public one near by was closed) or showers. Friendly and helpful guides. The powerful boat made us fly over the waves which was very enjoyable. At the rocks the guides led us to seeing turtles, sharks and a huge number of smaller fish. So we really got what we came for. I would like to do this again some day.

Still on a high from our Whale Watching tour yesterday (Saturday 10th Sept).
Thanks to captain Angus & Whale facts extroadinaire Emily for a fabulous time.
We were a group of five & we all would 100% book again.
The whales put on a fabulous show, the weather was fabulous.
A must do experience whether you are a local or a tourist.

Gabby and Angus were our guides and were both fantastic. Gabby was full of knowledge and they were both very patient and great at explaining everything for newbies.
We saw SO many different animals, leopard sharks, a manta ray, eagle ray, a few kinds of turtles, jellyfish and then all the amazing fish also.
10/10 recommend this company, it was amazing.

I enjoyed my third whale watching cruise. The weather wasn't kind but that didn't stop the whales from performing. It is always a spectacular site to watch them.

So pleased restrictions did not stop us doing the Whale Watching cruise! Communication and information provided pre cruise was spot on. Parking was not easy and we ended up a fair way away, so allow time! Skipper Angus and Marine Biologist Rory we’re friendly and knowledgeable. We were blessed with perfect weather and lots of whale sightings. Even saw two mothers with their calf. Rory provided us with lots of facts as we cruised alongside the giant humpbacks. We thoroughly enjoyed the two hours. I would call this a must do when in the area. It was worth every cent!

Hi,
Unfortunately the Whale Watching season ends at the end of October, although we offer a 2.5-3hr Ocean Adventure cruise from mid November through to June which follows the coastline from Ballina up to Cape Byron, stopping at all the sights such as Lennox Head, Broken Head and viewing Cape Byron Lighthouse from the water. This is also a great opportunity to see marine life such as dolphins, turtles and plenty of birdlife. Our Marine Biologist gives an interpretive talk of the area and wildlife experienced. This cruise is $95 for Adults and $75 for Children 5-11years. Alternatively, we will also be operating a 2hr Scenic River on sunset during this time of year. I hope this information has helped and if you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Our Whale Watching season starts from the end of May right through to the end of October. No month is particularly better than another but we do have the chance to witness different activity.
From May to August marks the humpback north migration, during this time we witness very active and energetic whales, including breaching, competition groups, males eager to get the attention of the females, and chin slapping.
In August we see a lot of inquisitive, interactive whales, mugging and close encounters, along with a first look at the seasons newest little whales.
Then from the end of August through to October is the south migration. This is when we get the chance to see more mothers coming back inshore with their newly born calves and more male competition groups.
Of course, the above activity can also be witnessed throughout the season. Therefore, this is a general guideline to whale season.

The full season is from June to November. For the first few months whales are heading north to the calving grounds off the Queensland coast. Towards the end of the season they are heading south to return to their home territories around the antarctic, during which you may get to see an unexpected event of killer whales (orcas) attacking and devouring a whale calf.

We did the Whale watching cruise,
it was fantastic, & certainly great value for money.
We also did the Mothers Day cruise up the Richmond river.
Can't recommend these guys enough.
