My family visited over a weekend. It is an absolutely beautiful place with great things to see. The creek area has great views with large rock cliffs. There is a balancing rock, falls, and ice mine. Just walking and relaxing beside the water was so enjoyable. We would definitely return.

This was a awesome walk through the park with a trail leading through the creeks, over a suspension bridge, photos in front of rainbow falls and an awesome balance rock that looks like its going to fall off the cliff. Looking forward to returning

This park is beautiful and the hiking is a lot of fun. Just be careful if you hike Brumbaugh Trail, though! Apparently part of it wonders outside of the state park area and is not maintained. The trail markers got fainter and fainter and eventually we lost the trail altogether. We were there in early spring and the trail was... More

This is a very pristine state park, as you take the winding road into the park you are immediately struck by the untouched beauty of the area. The main attraction is called the balancing rock, a huge rock teetering on a cliff precipice high above Trough Creek. There is a trail to the balancing rock that leads over a swinging... More

It was a fun hike. We saw the balancing rock, and the rainbow falls while we were there. The downside is that the pathways are not marked very well.

Camped overnight one weekend a couple weeks ago. The park was gorgeous and seems well maintained, but beware of HEAVY day tourist/weekend traffic from nearby Raystown Lake (this park is very close to the lake, so camping is convenient for those who don't want to pay fancy resort prices). We didn't have the opportunity to explore the longer trails, but... More

As I attempt to visit all of the PA state parks I am amazed at the beauty of each one. I would love to come back in the spring to see the rhododendrons in bloom. My friend and I spent the morning hiking over the suspension bridge to the Ledges, Rainbow Falls, Balanced Rock and Rhododendron trails. All trails we... More
