    Sweet Baby James Last Stand.
Went to our first 'Day on the Green' at the Centennial Vineyards and had a pretty good time. Well organised from the bus transport to the food choices available and even the WCs were not a pain! Plenty of room in the GA section and we brought comfy lawn chairs, dips, crackers & snacks. The drink prices were a tad pricey with a bottle of vino coming in at $48, I don't think the winery lost on the night? Will know what to do next visit, come earlier & do the cellar door or even the restaurant? James Taylor on his last show on Aussie soil was great and made everyone feel part of the show and overall, a great afternoon/evening was had by all.

    Sensational Centennial
My wife and I spent a very pleasant afternoon at the winery last Friday. The buildings and surrounds are magnificent and reminiscent of Tuscany. We began at 12.30 with a wine tasting - $10 per head, 8 selections and all wines very tasty, but some, the Pinot Gris and the Raspberry desert wine were sensational. We purchased half a dozen after lunch with a bonus bottle thrown in. We were only looking for a light lunch on the enclosed balcony of a very large and impressive restaurant. Service was prompt and courteous with some bread, oil and Balsamic to start - superb. I had the Barramundi in a light curry sauce, chips and salad and my wife, the entree size calamari and shared the chips! Both excellent and the fish was well cooked, very much as I like it and extremely tasty, large portions, so much so, there was leftover calamari and chips for dinner, back at the Sebel with such of the terrific Pinot Gris as remained, given I was driving! Never a good look for a Criminal lawyer to be arrested and appearing at the Moss Vale Local Court for drink driving. Yes, we will be back for both the wine and the food and hopefully for the next concert at the venue! Greg M

    Sublime Experience
We stopped in at this venue to have a wander around and possibly do a wine tasting. I was motivated by nostalgia, as it was where my daughter had her wedding nine years ago. We opted to have a morning tea of scones, jam and cream and coffee, and sat in the garden to do so. I cannot praise the scones highly enough - it is years since I have had scones that good - warm and fluffy and crumbly on the inside and crisp and golden on the outside. The cream was real, not from a can, and there was plenty of it, and the jam had real fruit in it. The crockery was dainty and delicate, the scenery was pretty and the service outstanding. Will definitely go back.

Great wines, excellent sommelier ,very knowlrdgable about their wines, districts etc, enjoyed a cheese board and some lovely wines. Specialise in White wines due to geography, and had some interesting examples. Their specialty would be Pinot Grigio ,this is the largest planting on the vineyard, and drinks very well, and yes we purchased some, an enjoyable visit

This is a Halliday red 5 Star winery and it lives up to this reputation. We live in the Hunter Valley and understand wineries very well. As a baby boomer couple we've had lots of practice. This tasting experience was very good.
We were told that our party of two did not need to book and my email to the vineyard is still unanswered. I have to say the booking in process was somewhat frenzied.
However, once we started the tasting itself, all that was forgotten. We were lucky enough to be introduced to Kate, the Cellar Door Manager, who conducted our tasting. She was helpful, enthusiastic, wonderfully knowledgeable and quick to come back with the next bottle to taste. Once she realised we had some wine knowledge she became even more helpful with suggestions (they have more than 30 wines to taste and you choose ten)
We ended up buying a six pack to bring back to the Hunter and I'm sure after tasting the first one - an estate Pinot Noir - we won't be disappointed. I may even join the wine club!

We stopped in for an impromptu tasting and the staff were very accommodating. The cellar door is gorgeous and the room where the tastings occur was very spacious and well set up!

The wines were delicious and show cases what the southern highlands has to offer. We had Rosalie serve us and she was exceptional! She had excellent knowledge of the wines and made the tasting a very enjoyable experience.

They have excellent Covid Safe practices which is good to see especially during the pandemic!

I highly recommend dropping in for a tasting and if possible, request Rosalie!

We had a wonderful afternoon wine tasting at Centennial. Kate was very knowledgeable, attentive and interesting as she took us through the tasting list. She even brought in some alternative wines when we showed interest in some of the grapes.
The location is grand, and well set up, ready for a visit with opening up post Covid .

$10pp for tasting is well worth it. 50% Redeemable at wine purchase. Tasting was a relaxed and comprehensive experience. We had our own table and staff to explain every wine. Very knowledgeable friendly staff. Wines are delicious. Would recommend.

We popped in for a tasting with our very mobile 1 year old and while this is not a suggestion to bring children to a tasting, our host Nell was very accommodating and knowledgeable.
There are a vast array of wines to taste and they are of excellent quality.
Would love to go back to try the restaurant!

A review said, "Easily the best vineyard in the Southern Highlands". Hmm, not so sure about that, or maybe it's a matter of what "best vineyard" means. Lunch was very good. We choose three entrees, a salad and a glass of Pinot Gris and Albarino and shared all. All were very good. But the best? Very large dining room, very large outdoor areas, very large wine tasting room, all likely has huge numbers of people on the weekends. So if you like a big party atmosphere, this may be one of the best. But if you're looking for great wines and great comparative wine tastings, hmm, not at all sure. There are MUCH better wines and wine tasting experiences in the Southern Highlands.
