We’ve visited from the car park at Perranporth and via the haven steps. By the car park it is busy but easy accessible with refreshments close by. Via the haven steps it’s a lot quieter but still life guarded but no refreshments.
Water was clear, we visited at low tide which is when we were advised was the most dangerous time. The life guards were well rotated and kept the slots between the flags small to keep it safe to watch. They rounded up those not between the flags to inform them of the dangers.

This is a fabulous beach - so huge which means it's not too difficult to socially distance even when busy. We were lucky we visited on the last really hot day in September and were able to go in the sea with wetsuits. The lifeguards are really on the case here in their vehicles and advising people to stay between the flags etc. My husband really enjoyed body boarding but it was a little too rough for me so I didn't go in too far. I love the fact that there are streams running all over the beach too. We finished up outside the Watering Hole enjoying a drink and the last of the sunshine. My only main complaint would be too many dogs, not on leads.

Very clean. Good facilities. Lots of parking available. Several surf schools and lots of beach rental places. Several cafes, fish and chips, ice cream places. All managed with social distancing and good hygiene.
The beach entrance is a bottle neck which gets busy but it opens out onto a large beach area. There were 2 RNLI jeeps on the beach and a lifeguard on a kayak in the water. Sometimes there was also a lifeguard on a jet ski too. The safety of swimmers and surfers is managed extremely well.
There are some caves to explore and good rock pooling areas. There is a large rocky out crop near the waters edge with a flag on top, climb up this and in the middle of it is a salt water pool you can swim in - ideal if you have little ones and the waves are too much.
You can buy wet suits in the town from as little as £15 and you get a good service with fitting and after care advice.
We had an absolutely amazing time and will definitely return.

Before the school holidays but still quite busy though spaces still available in the carparks at £5.50 for all day. When the tide is out there are vast expanses of sand, plenty of room for everyone but much more restricted as tide comes in [very quickly]. Good surf for surfing. Good life guard coverage. Between 9am and 4pm all dogs must be on a short lead and pretty well conformed to. Toilets available at car park. Dog icecream/yoghurt on sale.

Could be very over-crowded during school holidays but shallow sea ideal for toddlers.

Beautiful golden sand and a blustery sea. This beach has a bit of everything rock pools, surfing, a restaurant, parking close by and toilets. We spent most of the day here. There is the small rock to climb up and there is a natural sea pool to swim in. My favourite beach in Cornwall.

As with all the Cornish beaches, Perranporth didn’t disappoint.
Vast amounts of golden sand even when the tide is in.
Great to see so many families out and about enjoying what the UK has to offer.
We parked at the Texaco garage which was a 5 min walk from the beach, £6.
Small town with cafes, gift shops and bars if you fancy a break from the beach.
The waves on this beach were great. Plenty of surfers and body borders taking advantage but also great for the kids to jump over-if suggest smaller kids even if they can swim be supervised as the waves were rough.
Rock caves and small natural lido which was freezing. You can clamber up to the top of the rock too. Whilst some adults may be supervising their kids I wish they would have been more considerate and MOVE from the spot where other kids have to get in and out-not rocket science to see they are in peoples way.
Lifeguards on duty. We even had some pirates when we visited which was a great highlight!!
Not my fave beach we visited this hol (this has to be Hayles towan) but I wouldn’t hesitate to return here in the future, we had a great day.
Note-take note of the tide times, it comes in quick and if you’ve left your belongings on the sand whilst in the sea they’ll get swept out as we saw first hand!!

Beautiful beach, sandy with a few shells and stones to collect. When the tide is out there are lots of rock pools and caves to explore. Amazing for body boarding and surfing. Life guards and flag system.in place too. Highly recommend and will be visiting again for sure! We paid £20 at the Texaco garage for 2 whole nights camping and parking for our VW. No facilities but we are used to wild camping.

Wow..Amazing beach. Lots of tiny puddles foer kids to play. Dog friendly. Parking just 20 steps from the actual beach , cant remember how much for parking , but sure it was cheap compare to other parking spaces in Newquea for example. Carnwall icecream and cornish pastry shops very close to parking. Great time in september there was +23 and water + 18

The beach is beautiful but spoilt by large numbers of dogs that are not on leads. Despite there being very clear signage that dogs must be on leads, dog owners ignore the rules and let dogs run everywhere. Some dogs were scrapping with each other and over the course of an hour we must have had 10 or more dogs coming to sniff at our picnic and belongings, pee on the sand next to us and jump up at us.
One couple with two labradors, allowed both their dogs to poop at the water's edge and just leave it. Minutes later, children were paddling in it! Disgusting.
Added to this, there was a lot of cannabis smoke wafting around the beach - I did not like my young child being exposed to this. So, lovely beach full of selfish rule breakers and dope heads.

We arrived early and got a carparking space in the carpark at the beach, 4hrs or 6hrs or less/more. We spent the 4hrs here.
Lifeguards actively patrolling and controlling. The waves were wild and very pleasing to see the lifeguards being so strict.
Great views and big beach. Shame it was over run with dogs and off leads.
