Very interesting people orientated artifacts and exhibits in excellent condition. Found a few things that brought back childhood memories. Very welcoming and friendly member of staff at front desk where the tourist office is before you go into the museum.

Tried to take my six year old daughter but had to leave as a male member of staff would not leave her alone. Clearly has an unhealthy interest in little girls. Would not recommend if you have young children.

Very interesting small local museum that also houses the Tourist Information Centre. Museum is on three floors but won't take you long to get round. The ground floor section on toys is fascinating. Staff really friendly and helpful. Note that this is NOT the Stuart House, which is a five minute walk away and also worth a visit.

Volunteer Paul Day was very kind and shared his knowledge of the mining history in the area; it enhanced my experience in researching my family's genealogy

I can't find too much to say about this place as there is not much to say, but you will find it down a side street in the centre of town, behind Webb's Hotel, inside the tourist info.

The staff and very helpful and welcoming, which makes a change in Cornwall.

The collection is various cabinets in a back room, well lit and well displayed with some awesome toys, too many to list here

If you are a collector its worth taking a look although it won't take you much more than half an hour at the most.

Worth going to see, and its free too.

I am so glad we decided to visit the museum as it is full of very interesting artefacts in lovely surroundings this was much more enjoyable than we had expected as it does not look very big from outside but is really worth a visit if you are in the area and would be good to combine your trip by going to Stuart House at the same time, two well looked after properties.

We were very surprised at this lovely museum and its contents especially on the top floor with the fascinating display of minerals and a very well pieced together display of different types of stone. There was a wonderful Meccano working model on the ground floor which was a hands on display from the mine working days and the whole place was so clean and bright. I noticed there is a lift which would give easy access to any one less able so it is well worth a visit and we will certainly be going in again when we are next in the area

A very interesting museum with some interactive displays, a lively family history facility and a current display of children's toys through the ages. The working Meccano beam engine is a wonder to behold. We spent over an hour visiting the three floors. The top floor is dedicated to the history of mining and there are rock samples, computer displays and recorded lectures to enjoy explaining the history. Entrance is free but donations welcome or just buy something in the gift shop. A hidden treasure.

Recently refurbished and currently hosting an exhibition of childhood and toys - a real nostalgic treat for all ages.
Also has a fantastic mining and minerals room with interactive displays and further exhibits on local history.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff and volunteers and a great gift shop too.
