Having visited other slate mines I found this one a bit disappointing, it was still interesting but had not a lot to see underground. The woodland walk was very nice.

We visited on 17th August 2016. The price isn't bad, and the caverns themselves are interesting, beautiful and peaceful. I'd say we spent around half an hour in the caves, and enjoyed reading all the signposts, which were really well done and clearly pinpointed on the map we were given. Staff were friendly and polite, and we went for a... More

We viisted the caverns as part of our holiday in August 2016. It's a little tricky to find but has decent parking when you get there. The staff gave us a really good briefing and we donned our hard hats and went inside. Overall the caverns were smaller than I imagined although given how they were mined they represent a... More

This is very easy to find and not far off the main road. It is well signposted and there is ample parking. It was £17.50 for a family ticket (2 adults + 2 children) which gives entrance to the caves and also to walk around the grounds. There are 3 areas to view: the entrance level where they hold concerts,... More

Short tour taking around 15 minutes to complete. Cave pool is beautiful. Walks around garden afterwards complete the tour and well worth the money.

Absolutely stunning views and lovely, very helpful staff. Caves are very beautiful and the woodland walk is beautifully decorated with fairies hidden around the walk.

Interesting caverns. The Rolling scones do a great cream tea with a choice of jam, lemon curd or golden syrup. Recommend trying the water from there as they use water from the spring.

The staff is lovely and extremely helpful and the tea caravan is great. But the cave itself was a bit of a disappointment. Too busy for my liking (and we got there before the crowds), the explanations could be so much better - and the cave was still kitted out for weddings, with the place to sign the registry and... Visited the cavern today and was pleasantly surprised at the lack of people, a much needed get away from all the chaos and crowds we've experienced at all the major attractions in Cornwall at this time of year! There was a lovely warm welcome from the staff; super friendly lady in the ticket office and a very informative introduction to... More
