We arrived 10 minutes late for check in. The lady behind the desk was very rude. We had young children who needed the toilet and there are only 2 so was a que. She made it seem that by being late would mean we may not be able to go inside the cave and was asked to wait in the gardens. A lovely lady who gave us the briefing informed us that other people from our time slot was also late and the time slot after us a large group was late. Once inside it took around 15 minutes to see everything. The bar and cafe area was lovely and i think it should be open during the day. Would be a cool and unique experiance to have a coffee and cake inside as the experience is very short for the price. The kids loved the nature trail more, which is just a path going over the top of the cave but has some fun things to spot. Some areas are unsafe with broken fences.
I believe with some updates and training for staff in customer service this could be a lovely family day out. Maybe even a park?

We visited here as a group ranging from 4 years old to over 70 and we all really enjoyed it. Staff were very friendly and welcoming right from the start and everywhere felt very safe with regards to covid-19, with social distancing in place, face masks, and everything being sanitised before and after use.

We'd pre-booked our slot but had arrived about half an hour early due to the journey being easier than we'd thought, but that wasn't a problem and we were allowed in straight away. We were given hard hats and a welcome talk by the owner who was very nice and managed to get our 9 year old computer-obsessed son interested by relating what could be found in the caverns to Minecraft!

When entering the caverns we had the place almost to ourselves to explore. There were lots of things on display on the first floor, then we descended the 60 steps to the main cavern, the best bit though was the underground lake that you could light up!

After climbing back up and out and handing back our hats, we decided to explore the woodland fairy walk. At first it just looked like a small path around a patch of grass but we then took a turn into a fairy den and then up a path behind it and it turned into quite a long path to explore with hidden fairies, and dragons and even a little house to sit in! The path was narrow in places and there was a bit of an incline so I'd recommend good shoes! It was a lovely walk and really added something extra to the visit.

After our walk we ate our picnic in a covered area as it had started to rain a little. It had definitely got busier but not at all over crowded. I'd definitely recommend a visit.

Really great place to visit, inexpensive for a family, self guided tour means you can go at your own pace. Full of history. Lovely to meet the owners and ask all sort of questions. Lovely walks too

Drove over an hour whilst on holiday to be turned away by a rude woman with a bad attitude. She told us the Cavern was fully booked although the car park was practically empty and we didn't see any people waiting or queuing. She made no attempt to accommodate our family whatsoever. Our 2 disappointed children looked as if they were going to cry. The woodland fairy walk however wasn't fully booked and we overpaid £8 to walk around an overgrown dangerous path that bored out kids to tears.

Total waste of time and money. Don't bother!

Visit started with a friendly face and a good safety briefing.
Issued with a hard hat and self-guide map on a board.
The caverns are quite small and took 15-20 minutes to walk around.
For what is there they have made a good job of showing off the place and the information boards were ok but quite difficult to read in the dim lighting.
£8 pet adult to get in was reasonable but not great value for money.
Enjoyed the well-maintained woodland walk afterwards which also took about 20 minutes. I would imagine that youngsters would love it as there has clearly been much effort put into the liitle den and model fairies in the tree hollows etc.

Having planned the bulk of our day we added the Caverns to our itinerary last minute as the result of a guide book recommendation.

We arrived and after seeing a few ambiguous signs on the way in we looked up the website to try and understand if we needed to book or not. More ambiguity so my husband went to check.

The woman in the booth was condescending and abrupt but he was grudgingly offered a space on a tour about an hour later.

I went to check on the length of time the tour would take (due to our other plans) and firstly I was told where to stand before she’d answer my questions. I did get an answer and some other unsolicited comments about our day’s chosen activities. It all felt very hostile.

At this point we decided to leave so returned to the car. The teens had let the dog out and so we were just giving her a bit of free time when the woman appeared with a clip board asking if we were booking and regardless we were to return the dog to the car if we weren’t going to put her on the lead. We took this as our cue to leave.

No idea about the caverns themselves we didn’t bother to find out!!!

Myself and my partner decided to visit the Caverns after seeing them signposted quite a few times, and we weren’t disappointed. Tucked out the way in the middle of beautiful Cornish countryside, lies the Carnglaze Caverns, with a large car park, lots of room to allow for distancing and a fantastic setting for all ages.

We are down from Norfolk for the week and are staying just a stone throw away from the caverns; in Dobwalls, so it was only 10 minutes drive away and just off the A38.

We did the walk first and were very impressed how well maintained it all was, as the attraction is family ran and owned, lots of hard work and love goes into making sure it’s as good as it can be. The walk offers a nice view of the forests and valleys below, aswell as a sweet hideout for children. There is also a viewing point across the glamorous fields overlooking the small village of St Neot.

The caves are well maintained and offer a fantastic outlet to education for people of any age generation. There are information points dotted around the attraction and you are provided a hard hat per person aswell as a Handy map so you can work your way around the attraction.

We were impressed to see they also host concerts in the first part of the cave along with numerous weddings also, furthermore highlighting the true natural beauty. The caves are great, you learn a lot and avoid any flash photography as the caves are home to several species of bats, however you are still able to take good photos without flash and a slower shutter speed.

The mother lake offers two light switches which you can turn on to see it better, this was really impressive and the quietness was eerie but very calming at the same time. My partner and me were very lucky in the fact we were the only ones visiting at the time (just before we arrived a large party had left)

We spent a good 45 mins/1 hour at the attraction and upon leaving we had the pleasure of talking to the owner, an extremely kind and knowledgeable lady who has lived at the Caverns for 20+ years. So we were able to ask her any questions we had directly and we had a lovely chat for the best part of half an hour; she was happy to answer any questions we had and really opened us up to the history of the caverns, when they stopped using it for mining and the surrounding countryside and cultures. It was great to get such an intellectual insight into the past and even a sighter into what it’s like in maintaining and running an attraction as stunning as the caverns.

All in all, it was a great experience and an honour to visit. I would like to highlight the true kindness and gratitude from the owner who’s name we didn’t catch, but it was well worth the visit and would definitely recommend.

We visited Carnglaze Caverns whilst on holiday with our 7 and 4 year olds. We had read reviews so knew that it would be a morning activity rather than a whole day. The guide was really friendly and really good at explaining things to the children, they loved the novelty of wearing hard hats and we all found the caves really interesting. The underwater lakes are very beautiful. We also really enjoyed the woodland walk afterwards looking for all the fairies and dragons. A lovely visit!

Carnglaze Caverns really are so unique. We can’t get over the fact that they host concerts, weddings and movie nights there and have a fully functioning bar in the entrance chamber, we would love to come back and attend one of them. The largest chamber further underground is vast, we were lucky enough to be visiting out of season and although there was a steady flow of guests, we were all slightly staggered so we ended up having the cavern to ourselves for a while. There’s a smaller pool and a 3rd, separate chamber with a larger pool which is stunning when lit up. The fact cards were good to provide context and explain the history of the caverns and the gemstones on display were cool. There’s a lovely gift shop and picnic area. We didn’t do the woodland walk due to the rain but that also looked cute for next time.

We came here to watch Indiana Jones in one of the caves. The staff were very helpful and the film Itself was great, my only problem was the lack of social distancing in the seating area. Most cinemas & theatre venues are ensuring spaces between families & seating people every other row. This was not the case here, the chairs were tied together so we could shuffle away from other people and the rows were place quite close together, we wore our masks throughout the showing but most people did not. If I hadn’t have driven 90 minutes to get there and paid £45 for two tickets, I’m not sure I would have stayed as I felt a little unsafe.
