Gorgeous clean vast beach with sand dunes

Amazing beach really clean with lots of room only have to be careful of times of tides if you want to cross the estuary to head back or from Newquay.

Crantock is one of the best beaches in North Cornwall which has great access if you are actually staying in Crantock village itself. Dogs are welcome and there are some great sand dunes that they love ploughing through. Lots of surfers on the beach with plenty of water warnings.

If you catch your visit so the tide is out then you get to enjoy a vast expanse of beautiful sandy beach. This beach allows dogs all year which as a dog owner is an added bonus to enjoying the walk along the beach. Lots of caves and rock pools to explore so great for kids as well. Definitely worth... Beach is cracking what I took in but driving a wheelchair friendly boxer van standard height I should have been able to get into the car park as it showed the same height as my local tip where I have no problems entering. But instead Ariel was ripped off and damaged the roof of our van. The council most probably... More

This beautiful idyllic beach and landscape of sand dunes is a huge attraction in all seasons but BEWARE of the sinking sand, many get caught out here by all accounts and trapped by the riverway. One of our friends was caught out in seconds she was engulfed passed her knees, took three of us to get her out. Very scary.... More

Well worth exploring. You can also bring your dog if you have one. Inland from the shore are The Old Albion and the Cornishman- the latter more of a drinkers' pub. the former a quieter and more secluded haunt with monthly live music.

The once fantastic beach at Crantock is now spoilt by the river now cutting it in half and making swimming dangerous in some tides. The owner the Duchy of Cornwall have been contacted about the danger but don't seem interested in doing anything to fix it. I guess Charlie does not want to spend the money as its only public... Crantock Beach is glorious - there’s no other way to describe it. It’s a large, sandy beach with extensive dunes and if you’re there at low tide so much the better as there are plenty of rock pools and caves to explore. Look out for the rock carvings (see photos) in Piper’s Hole inlet which feature the profile of a... More
