The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic houses one of the world's largest collections of items relating to witchcraft, the occult and magic. With over 3000 objects, a wise woman's cottage, a herb garden and a shrine it is a memorable place. It has been in the picturesque Cornish coastal village of Boscastle since 1961 and is one of Cornwall's most popular museums rated highly on TripAdvisor. The Museum intrigues visitors with its collections of charms, curses, herbs and healing and sea witchcraft. Some of our most popular items are magical tools such as glass knitting needles, objects which were used for scrying such as black mirrors, crystals and crystal balls and our collection of protection talismans made by soldiers in the trenches of World War One. The Museum also has an extensive library with other 7000 books and an archive of documents which can be viewed online or visited by appointment.

A fascinating & objective overview of the history of witchcraft that covers the truth, the legends, the misconceptions & the popular interpretations of this often misunderstood group of people over a two floor museum. Located in the quaint harbor village of Boscastle, Cornwall, not at all far from the National Trust Visitor Center, which itself is worth a visit, the... More

My husband and I run a paranormal and anomaly group of consultants in Canada and I am a working Kenning Medium. I've had dreams of this place leading up to our visit. I was not disappointed! After the flood, I was worried a lot of the items would be damaged but they informed me it took 2 years to rebuild... More

Museum of witchcraft and magic; clearly maintained by a team with passion and enthusiasm. Some beautiful items, some interesting artifacts, some preserved cats, some downright creepy superstitious stuff and a great deal of folklore, some of it of dubious origin! There's things which might scare younger ones...and in places it's heavy on the text - but absolutely worth a visit,... More

my partner and I visited this museum on a sunday, I was a bit dubious as I don't really believe in witchcraft. I have to say that I found it extremely interesting and unusual. Well worth the admission price and we spent nearly a couple of hours there , I have lived in Cornwall for about 30 years and its... More

Visited here one afternoon with my teenage son - as a way to fill a couple of hours! This museum is in a lovely setting in the harbour and looks tiny from the outside. It is quite deceptive as the inside is much bigger and full of little rooms with different themes. The themes are really clear, appear to be... More

We spent a hour or so at this tiny musuem in Boscastle. It is extremely interesting and even my two children found it fascinating (could have also been the lack of wifi and phone service that rendered them with nothing else to do though!) Good value and worth a visit

We visited last week with 2 children ages 12 and 6. Our 12 year old found it interesting and managed to point out all the rude words and pictures haha which there is a few! Our 6 year old didn't get that much out of it to be honest as there is a lot of reading and some things a... More

Love it here although I must come alone one day to read and absorb all of the information! We visited on the All Hallows' Gathering. Absolutely cracking celebration that fitted in so well with atmosphere of Boscastle and of course the Witch museum. Brilliant!

Visited Boscastle after being in Tintagel at the Castle. Went to the Museum as it seemed to me to be something out of the ordinary. I enjoyed all the history - there was some tacky modern stuff and it's a tight squeeze when there's lots of people. The first part was the best as it was more history than anything.... More
