definitely visiting again soon
Jul 2019 • Friends
A friend suggested a picnic here with our little ones and I wish I'd come across it sooner, a lovely spacious area for various activities and adventures including a walk along the river with nature at its best, play areas, tennis/ basketball courts and outdoor gym area..a path to walk around the park, cafe with tasty and good value food/ drink, plus public toilets which is great.. definitely visiting again soon!

Visit at your own risk!

This is the only park I’ve walked my dog in where I’ve seen people hit and abuse their pets. Also overheard a group of women being very racist about foreign people. I would not recommend taking kids here or anyone for that matter.

Green space with lovely childrens playground
Jul 2018 • Couples
Quiet green space in Twickenham with great childrens playground, tennis courts and sometimes soccer coaching for kids. Long walk to toilets and coach house but lovely in the late afternoon.

Good local pleasure gardens
Jun 2018 • Friends
A reasonably sized open park with trees planted round the exterior.

There is a restaurant, children's playground with many of the usual exercise and fun machines, tennis courts sometimes a football pitch for local matches.

It is kept reasonably clean and in good condition, and hooliganism here has been largely eradicated.

Many local sporting events and fairs are held in the grounds.

A river with much associated wild life runs along one edge of the park.

You can cross 'Meadway' road and enter the even more interesting Crane Park from here, which runs for miles along the River Crane.

Great local resource
Apr 2018 • Family
Like to walk here from Hounslow via Crane Park. It is a great local resource with tennis courts, a large, busy playground, cafe and wooden wildlife sculptures. Friends of River Crane offer bird watching and bat walks

Great local park!
Apr 2018 • Family
I have been using this park for years and it's lovely to see it being so well used with the cafe and toilets making it more attractive than ever. Equipment for both young and older children/teens/ adults with the table tennis table, outdoor gym, tennis courts and basketball hoops. There's a canal to feed the ducks and lots of space for picnics, bike riding, football etc. More for the teenagers and updating some of the equipment in the younger children's playground would make it even better.

Rain or sun it is always Fun!
Feb 2018 • Friends
Walking along the River Crane Corridor from Knelller Gardens to The Shot Tower (The River Crane Sanctuary area) is always a joy. Something new to see or hear or feel like the sound of the wind in the trees or the soft rain on your face or the golden sunlight through the ancient trees. Maybe even a Kingfisher by the Meadway bridge will surprise you with a flash of turquoise blue and gold. Take a walk and see or look in the River Crane Sanctuary website or Flickr album to get inspiration to take that walk!

River Crane Sanctuary
May 2017 • Friends
The River Crane Sanctuary runs from Kneller Gardens to The Shot Tower.
It is a wonderful walk in all seasons and you can feel like you are in the countryside instead of a built up suburb of London. google river crane sanctuary to find out more about the project to protect this area from new builds and see a photo/video album on the home page which takes you on a visual walk of the whole space. Some photos included here.
