This is my first ever review on tripadvisor so here we go. It's out of this world, a great day out if you like aviation and a treat if you have kids. Recommended

Absolutely brilliant and well worth a booking for the plane crazy people around. Nearest to the real thing by far.

Instructor (from Easy Jet) very amiable and selected a level suitable for me with some tasks thrown in. It was my day and he made sure that I enjoyed the time that I had.

Arrival and welcome very good as was post flight session.

Want to land a 737? This is the place to do it....great staff and superb instruction. It feels very real but the Pilot will talk you through following a proper pre-flight briefing. You even get to decide where to take off and land....I chose Vegas having been recently. I actually landed first time around which was amazing.

Completely brilliant.

Not sure if I would have thought of or gone to the trouble of coming here had I not been brought along by a friend and his corporate event after a more deserving person suddenly couldn't take part. The website and other reviews spell out what happens. Suffice it to say that it is impressive from the moment you enter the building and see the size and scale of the kit. The basic guidance was clear and specific as well as perfectly suited to the simulation to follow. Never thought I would be interested or able to follow the training or make a half decent fist of the time in the simulator. But I did, I enjoyed it, and am proud of how well I did. But won't be retraining or throwing money at getting a private pilots licence. I will stick to sailing. Would however recommend a day at health row with this unit. Will always remember it.

I have flown with Virtual Aviation several times and I have never been let down once. The Captain that VirtualAviation have provided me has been very helpful and very patient during the 'flight' time. The staff involved with the training facility were great and helped me get where I needed to go. Highly recommended!

It was a nice experience to feel like you were actually in the cockpit of a jet fighter doing acrobatics.

The Gatwick simulator is actually a few miles down the road in Burgess Hill. This vast facility has about 12 simulators all lined up relating to various aircraft. Virgin airlines use a majority of the facilities but other airliners take part.
The cockpit is an exact mockup of the aircraft itself, in our case a 747 which I understand is the workhorse of the sky. We were given about 35 min briefing, explanation of the controls, then the two of us took it turn and turn about to fly the aircraft and takeoff, a fairly simple procedure, compared with the landing, which was very difficult. We had an hour but this disappeared and seem like 10 min . lt. Chris, our pilot for the day, told me that the kids are much better at doing this than the adults because they are fresh off their gaming machines and have the mindset to do the various tasks of coordination required.
The pilot and the co-pilot have an exact duplicate of everything so one can take over from the other in case of illness or any other reason.
The visuals of the landscape are moderately impressive but the flight simulator I was using was 20 years old. I understand that the latest simulators carry full geographical data which frankly would have been much more spectacular.
For me, the value was seeing how much goes on in the cockpit. It is good to know that landing can be set to auto. I'm not quite sure how much the modern pilot has to do. I found the experience interesting, and it was possible to talk to a working pilot a little bit about his attitude, conditions etc. I felt it wise to avoid any conversation about the politics between various airlines and just stick to the technical side.
I would not call it a fun experience because I think this is trivialising the whole matter, but it is interesting and involving and in a way improved my confidence in flying seeing the situation from the pilots point of view.
The whole experience cost £480 and that was on special offer. Expect to pay more.
Worth it? Yes.

I purchased this for my husbands Christmas, he is very difficult to buy for and I knew a friend of his had done this and enjoyed it.
Met Chris the trainer and after a quick briefing and explanation of the controls we were escorted onto the simulator...
A fabulous experience to "fly" a Boeing 737-800 great fun and quickest hour ever.
Even as an onlooker, it was a true flying experience.
Would recommend this experience for any plane enthusiast
