New pub

We called in whilst trying out other pubs other than the town centre and we called in this refurbished and renamed boozer ( cricketers ) found friendly people and friendly bar staff and a good pint of Leeds pale ale. Give it ago as it is close to the railway station.

No wonder the place is empty

We called into the Fat Badger before going for dinner over the road. It is probably the 7th or8 throne we have been there since it opened. We ordered. Bombay Safire gin and a beer it was served without ice or lemon. When I asked for ice I was told the ice machine was broken and they had no lemon. If this was the first time I'd been told this I would have accepted it but the last 3 times I have had the same answer. This will be the last time. Tesco is less than 3 minutes away so why can they not go there

Not a good replacement
May 2017 • Solo
I occasionally visited the Cricketers in its old form and enjoyed it - it's replacement - supposedly a micro pub - is karaoke - a few real ales and a constant stream of staff and customers going to the street outside for a smoke not a micro pub - just a pub

not great at all
Jan 2017 • Couples
Popped in for a glass of wine with my husband. Only 3 other people in the pub and the barmaid obviously knew them. Sat down with our drinks to find lipstick marks all around the glasses and had to sit and listen to the barmaid shouting and swearing with the other customers, maybe fun for them, not great impressions for us.

Nice Hostelry
Dec 2016 • Couples
Popped in here after a meal at Wild Bills, recently renovated to a high standard serving a good range of draught and bottled beers. Sports on TV and nice music. Friendly hosts and a nice ambiance
