I’ve just visited this cinema with my two young children. From arrival right through to leaving the building, the experience was fantastic. Great greeting from friendly and helpful staff; seats are what a perfect angle to see the screen over heads; screen was really good and clear; sound fantastic. Oh. And it was covid safe! Staff were really helpful and a tribute to the org. I’ve seen a few films here and always had a great experience. Really recommended.

Love this Cinema... and its old world charm. Great for children as its is not as loud as other cinemas. The staff are friendly and helpful. Value for money, great prices on snacks and drinks. If your out with the Grown Ups you can get a real drink at the bar.. whats not to LOVE I like to support independent business when ever I can and have used Parkway Cinema ever since I moved to Barnsley 9 years ago LOVE IT

I have been going to these pictures since forever, I will never forget the experience of my brother taking me to see star wars on our own when I was young, it was wonderful! And I have taken my children and now my grandchildren. I loved it then and I love it now and I will be heartbroken if it closes, it's a part of my childhood and a part of Barnsley. I am amazed that there are negative comments about the old girl or her staff as we always find them to be chatty and happy to help but then we do try to follow the rules. No it's not a modern sleek cinema of todays standards but that's why I love it! It's warm and the seats are big and comfy and as every other row has been removed you have leg room in abundance. The price is good the food is good and you can even have a pint while you watch a film now! It's reminiscent of times gone and if you take the time to just sit and really look at the old place, you can feel the nostalgia.

The best picture house in the UK! We went to see 'Laurence of Arabia' on 70 mm film recently. It was magnificent. The owner Rob is 'Mr Barnsley' himself with his witty humour. After the screening he took time out and showed me inside the projector room and how the massive film fed through the spools. I make films myself so was fascinated by it all. The fact that the place is packed all the time answers all the critics. You can keep all the modern high priced cinemas. He should be knighted for keeping the place going. Dave Cherry the 'Stairfoot Rarndabart' man.

The cinema has a community feel about, expertly overseen by Rob, who makes every visitor welcome. Rob regularly comes out front to meet and speak with visitors, both young and old. A visit to this location has become a weekly event for my wife and I, all down to Rob's presence. Thanks Rob!
