First was the excellent play area - so we had a climb and a swing and took photos through the huge owl. Lovely sculpture made from willow branches and a raised pond safe for the little ones. Then on to the reserve proper - and the family hide - prefect for youngsters to see the main scrape and its waders... More

Lovely walk around the marshland and lakes with lots of hides to stop at along the way. Plenty of benches dotted around and lots of posters in the hides for easy identification of most common birds. You can hire binoculars from the shop for a small fee. The cafe is good offering plenty of snacks and lunches. The cakes are... More

This is one of my favourite places- lovely nature reserve, lots of interesting nature walks and a great cafe/shop. I've been a few times with my 3 year old niece and she loves it too!

Ok, nothing special. Came here with my daughter and baby. The lady at the entrance was friendly, however spent a lot of time trying to get us to sign up to a pass for rspb. There's a shop as you go in, which is extremely overpriced. I mean £30 for a bird box, come on.... the woman on the door... More

A decent way to spend the afternoon. There's a decent children's play area. My daughter enjoyed pond dipping for insects. Overall it's a nice walk and the staff are very friendly.

School holidays are always a problem keeping my two girls happy and occupied so a trip to the Wetlands centre seemed a great idea - fresh air, nature and a cracking cafe selling to die for carrot cake!. The nature reserve is clearly signposted and on arrival there was ample parking. The visitors centre was staffed by very pleasant and... More

We enjoyed a nice morning out at old moor. The children had a go at pond dipping, which they loved. We also had a nice walk and played in the play area.

Old Moor is a wonderful place for people of all ages. The wetlands area and bird watching areas are second to none. Refreshments, with an outside balcony, are very good, though a recent comment disagrees with service; it was self service on my last visit. Good parking facilities and well worth a visit.

Hi thank you so much for your lovely review. Just to assure you that the poor review regarding service was for another establishment and put on our page in error. I'm so pleased that you enjoy visiting the reserve. Best wishes Liane More
