Visited recently and had a really lovely walk. We were also quite lucky as the weather was absolutely perfect for a long walk. Really enjoyed our visit and will be returning.

Great place sadly spoiled by rude staff. I've walked on the land that the reserves are now on for many years and now since the RSPB have taken them over many people are staying away due to being spoken to in an aggressive manor by the staff patrolling the sites.

Oh dear It’s a bit muddy on the paths to enter the building New car park is amazing though so I suppose a little mud is to be expected ( fingers crossed for some dry weather soon ) 1st visit since enjoying an amazing afternoon tea on the 22nd of December. W e purposely made the trip to old moor today to book afternoon tea for Mother’s Day for both our elderly mothers as we couldn’t find it on the website booking facility as the Christmas one was. The management has changed and we were informed literally with a “ no were not “ when I enquired to the long haired man behind the counter ( no name badge ) if they were doing an afternoon tea & that was his response. I explained that we had enjoyed the experience at Christmas arranged by Lucy and heather and were very much looking forward to comeing again, no response ! He just carried on as if we were speaking Chinese to him Very very disappointed We had such a lovely time with a large group of friends and family at Christmas. Ordered a coffee sat down and got chatting to a lady on the adjacent table who told us the “gent “ behind the counter used to be the manager and now he’s back Why ? Why? Why? We were so very impressed with the massive changes the cafe had implemented The customer service we have received in our last 4 or 5 visits has been second to none Not anymore I’m afraid whoever made this staff decision needs to reconsider bring back the wonderful ladies we had at Christmas The ladies where nothing is too much trouble and where the atmosphere is warm and welcomeing We will be back , because we love old moor but will be bringing our own packed lunch I’m afraid

Lots of hide outs to view a large variety of birds in the natural habitat. Would make a special educational fun day out for kids who love nature as well as being a relaxing day out for couples or friends who also want to answer nature’s call. We also spotted some beautiful butterflies, and dragonflies. There’s also a lovely cafe and a wonderful shop full of beautiful and interesting things as well as the expected educational and helpful stock.
