The plaza Stockport puts on the most amazing Pantomimes around Christmas time. Every year is different with great stars from past and present in leading roles. Easy to get to with transport on the doorstep. Fabulous interior and good seating.

Nestled on a discrete corner of Mersey Square in Stockport The Plaza Theatre is an Art Deco gem hailing back to the jazz age when people's access to the wider world was by visiting the cinema as opposed to staying at home watching TV. The Plaza opened in 1932 as a super cinema complete with the grandest of classic Art... More

Lovely fresh sandwiches warm scones and excellent friendly service. I would recommend the plaza to anyone. The setting is lovely, and it's in a handy spot for parking. It was my first visit last week and it's going to be a regular from now on.

This is an Art Deco theatre staffed largely by dedicated., Warm and welcoming volunteers. This makes any drama or film performance a very special experience and exceptional value compared to multi plex cinemas for example

Went for afternoon tea in December 2015 with friends and family. There was no choice of sandwiches. Rather than serve a variety of sandwiches you had to choose which sandwich you wanted and when it arrived the bread was dry. The scones and cakes were fine but when my husband asked for another coffee he was told he would have... More

If, like me, you are a fan of Art Deco, you will love the tea room at The Plaza. It can get incredibly crowded though, so I wouldn't describe it as 'relaxing' and whilst I wasn't a fan of the food, the tea is very proper! The theatre downstairs is beautiful, but there are far too few productions, as the... More

A very enjoyable visit to the tearoom early on a Wednesday afternoon. The sandwiches were tasty and service was prompt and eager to please. It's a beautiful room and the only thing lacking was a few more customers, which would have added to the atmosphere.
