Sad how it is now. Compared, to how it once was.

This, shopping centre is a shadow of its former self. Some shops are empty. Has a, good boots, super drug, Wh smiths, HMV, McDonald's, Ann Summers and Primark amongst many others. Occasionally have street events with food stalls. Could be a, lot better.

Great experience at Mero
Aug 2021 • Family
Visited Merseyway yesterday to get school shoes for my kids, what a great experience. It was super easy to park the team at Clarke’s where brilliant and it was really quick. As a bonus the kids got to play at the beach and on the rides.
The temporary pic n mix there was a bit pricy but the lady’s where very good at showing the kids what £2 worth of sweets cost. All in all great experience.

Just Awful
Apr 2021 • Couples
This used to be an amazing place to shop , eat and socialize. Unfortunately they have let it go to rack and ruin. The council wouldn’t fight to keep the big companies, M and S, Co-op etc.
Then they let Primark in. Since then it become a really poor place to be . Empty shops, filthy walkway, poor hygiene. I would avoid at all costs

This town centre shopping centre is a, shadow of its former self. A lot of pound and saver shops. The shopping centre has a large primark, Boots, Superdrug, WH Smiths and some other stores. Okay for some items if you are in the area.

First time visit
Mar 2021 • Couples
Me and my wife visited stockport this Friday. We had never been before so didn't know what to expect. Obviously a lot of the shops were shut , due to covid restrictions. But there seemed to be lots of independent shops about as well as some of the big retailers. Yes there are empty shops around, but every town and city as these, even the successful ones. It looks also like it could do with a revamp in the main bit of the shopping center. On the whole I like Stockport and will be coming back to visit when the shops are back open, and hopefully go and see the air raid shelters.

Shadow of its former self
Nov 2020 • Family
This review reflects the shopping centre. Not the town of Stockport in general. A once good shopping centre has several boarded up shops. 1970s style shops including a primark, boots, super drug, hmv, Ann summers, phone shops, pound shops, Mcdonalds and a cafe. A shadow of its former self. Still has a few decent shops to look around.

Superb Stockport.

Firstly, Stockport is full of historical buildings, just open your eyes and see. There's places of interest for the whole family to visit. Museums galore, and the Air Raid Shelters. If people are stuck for something to to do then there's plenty to see. We also have the Art Deco tea rooms.
Shops, cafes, restaurants, bars. Large cinema. What is there to complain about. It's miles better than other areas I've visited in the North West.

Faded glory

When I first went to this shopping centre over 26 years ago it had a wide range of big and small shops. It has a primark, boots, super drug and some other shops along with cafes and a McDonald's. There are a number of empty shops. A shadow of its former self.

It's an odd large place that calls somewhere 6 miles away 'TOWN'.....
Mar 2020
This is a great shopping centre with every retailer and then some, that one could ask for but Stockport itself is odd.
It's own residents call it by it's name ( Stockport) or 'Stocky' and never 'town'.... that word is reserved for the city of Manchester some 6 miles distant that ironically Stockport wishes to distance itself from in every other way proclaiming itself as Stockport 'Cheshire' as to differentiate from it's beloved (for some reason.) city of Manchester up the road by 6 miles.
The residents of Stockport even follow one of Manchester's football team at the expense of their own Stockport County, and this was the case when Manchester City FC were in the same division as Stockport County.
This phenomenon must be unknown anywhere else - in this large and ancient historic town of Stockport it's own citizens (not expatriates from Manchester) even one bus stop out of the centre ask for 'Stockport' as the destination, never 'town'.
Stagecoach buses whizz along the A6 on route 192 showing 'PICCADILLY'as the destination (rather than Manchester or even Manchester Piccadilly).
It is such a shame that this handsome large ancient town is looked upon as a joke by it's own people who gaze lovingly at 'Town'(Manchester) which is unclean and chaotic, yet their very own Stockport is clean, tidy, orderly and well run and acknowledged so.
Say to anyone from Stockport "..are you from Manchester?" and they would immediately say "no no no we're Cheshire".
All a bit odd really!

Slowing dying shopping centre
Oct 2019
This shopping centre is showing its age and reflects how shopping habits have changed. M&S vacating its store has had a huge impact and there's only Debenhams that might attract shoppers. Like the town centre, it's needs a proper overhaul but I doubt that the expense would be justified. Such a shame as there are some nice independent shops nearby including a great fishmongers.
