This church holds many memories for our family.It always seems welcoming whenever we go in. A lovely village church at the end of a quiet lane,adjacent to parkland and areas with peaceful secluded walks.

Wonderful end to a walk around Prestwich Clough terminating at St Mary's. This church has been used in Coronation Street for decades. Wonderful architecture and outlook, a mere few minutes from Prestwich Village and a deserved cup of tea after a brisk walk.

A visit to this old church is worth a visit more than 800 years old and worth a look. It is in Church Lane Prestwich. There is also some 17th century houses, and a Church Inn Pub where you can have lunch. Enjoy your visit....More

Hi Not fully sure but I know this was the burial ground for deceased patients from Prestwich Asylum many years ago. So it is possible it could relate to their hospital number and whether Man/Woman as opposed to Male/Female... More
