Took my 8 year old Granddaughter here yesterday and is well worth the admission £6 for a family ticket of 4. Very interesting with regards to the area we live in, my granddaughter was especially interested in the Roman history of the area as she is learning all about the Romans at school. She particularly liked the competition and finding... More

A great visit - we discovered it had re-opened and popped in for a look. Great exhibition, informative and well illustrated. Very enjoyable and the ladies behind the desk were lovely chatty people. Took my father and stepmother there yesterday but unfortunately it hadn't opened - shame. There is also a large gallery space upstairs which is worth a look... More

Just a nice sized, well stocked museum, which has been nice lunch refurbished. Enjoyable visit and helpful friendly staff. Would definitely recommend a visit. The nearby towns are also worth visiting.

Enjoyed reading about specific local people, seeing the Dobcross loom, models of Rushcart and Castleshaw Roman camp. Would have liked to read more about the railway and canal. In addition to the space of the art gallery there is also wall space for local art work in the museum.

Until I visited the museum I was not aware of the richness and history of the Saddleworth area. This is a good place for all ages.
