The activity centre is part of the Burrs Country Park a mile or so north of central Bury. Now located in restored stone factory buildings it provides kayaking, orienteering and wall climbing facilities, with a bunkhouse accommodation. Walking the Irwell Sculpture Trail from above Bacup to the Manchester Ship Canal in Salford I came across this hidden gem as part... More

its a very nice venue, bunk beds full catering available in house. They have a little cafe for light lunches and about 25yards away there is the Brown Cow pub, good food and beer and no driving

Made the most of the late summer sunshine with a afternoon at Burrs. Lovely walk with stunning scenery for us all to enjoy and a park for the kids to run around on after the walk , All finished off with a nice pint in the brown cow whist the kids palyed football and on the climbing frames

Went to Burrs Country Park not knowing anything about the place. Easy parking and well signed to see where you are. paths are easy to follow and wide and great for people with families and those with wheelchairs. Following the river Irwell you wind through the park and everything is well kept and clean. great place for walkers and dog... More

My first visit and what a lovely place to walk around and enjoy somewhere unspoilt. We had a pleasant walk around the park and my grandson enjoyed riding his bike, feeding the ducks and having a picnic, picnic benches available. A little disappointed at the lack of public toilets and though the little cafe was open, it had a very... More

Had a lovely walk round Burrs with family and my 20 month old daughter. It's a beautiful country park and very clean. It's also nice to read the information points and learn what used to be there in the past. Lovely place, can't believe it's almost on my doorstep and I have never been before. Will return soon!

Walked to Burrs Country Park during first week of June. On arrival there were a group of kids having a go at the climbing wall. Went into the activity centre - the café was closed. The portable toilets were closed. The pub was OK, we wanted to go there anyway and it was full of notices about toilets being for... More

This is the first visit to Burrs and I was pleasently surprised. We went to the Lost Carnival. This was a very popular event and was busy. The organisation was impressive. We were marshalled into the cordoned off parking. Then walked down to the show. Arrived at 17:00 and stayed until around 21:45. The whole thing was ℅-ordinated to perfection... More
